I sold him a CPS2 EcoFighters W/MoBo thru Ebay for $100, and the board arrived broken. He said there was something loose inside. I told him to send it back and offered him a refund if I couldnt fix it. I even told him to keep the MoBo to save on shipping and to offset the shipping $$$ in case it wasnt fixable.

He then opens the board(without my consent) and finds that the battery fell out. He says the board isnt fixable, cause of the battery. Most people know that you can bring tham back to life, so I tell him to send it back again.

Afew days past, and I get an email saying his friend can Pheonix it for $60. I tell him Ill split the $60 and give him $30. He says no, He wants me to pay the full $60. HE also did a paypal charge back claim. I ask him why he filed a claim when I was willing to give a refund.

A month goes by and Paypal gives him his money back. I email him and ask for the board back. he doesnt respond to any of my emails. I found him on these boards a few weeks later and PMed him asking for my board back. His reponse was(C&P from my PM)

I asked him why he even tried to phoenix a board that didnt belong to him? Havnt goten a reponse from him ever since. So basically Im out a EcoFighters and shipping $$$

If this stuff is indeed true (and I don't have any reason to think otherwise), that is indeed a shitty thing for him to do.


I hate people who just go and immediately do a chargeback without ever giving the seller a chance to make things right. Or in this case, atleast inspect the level of damage.

wtf? is there a trend towards being a complete fucking asshole lately? that guy should not have thrown anything away - that's utter bullshit on his part and he owes you for it - probably full price.
this story sounds so much like my ordeal with neogeofl..

I guarantee he didn't throw it away. He fixed it with the pheonix roms, and kept that shit. Thats fucked up...

I recommend pooping in a box and shipping it to him. Won't get any money back but it'll be damn funny.

+1 for shitting in a box and shipping it to him. put it in the middle of a bunch of styrophome peanuts though so he has to go digging through it.

Thats not always the case... if you fry the pals, pheonix roms wont' do shit to bring it back.

Judging by this story, i'm sure the pheonix roms fixed it, unless the board was dropped so bad it not only broke the battery out of place, but cracked the PCB as well.

Would of have it mattered if you stated "Sold as-is." in the Auction description? I guess PayPal would care less, but at least you had some kind of way to defend yourself.

I PMed you a link to my thread and it took you this long to respond! It took you 2 seconds to file your paypal claim.

If you wanted me to pay for the shipping for the return of both boards you should of asked me. I offered you the free MoBo becuase I thought it was a good deal for you to spend $10 on shipping and get to keep the MoBo.
All you wanted was your $$$$$ back and a free board, knowing it was a easy fix.
