Actually the Neo Geo version has a different Super scheme from all others.
On GBA and NES and all other platforms, you perform a super throw by pressing throw on your third step of a run up (this is a variable on GBA that you can tweak so you'll always throw whne running, or even if you time it perfectly it's still a 50/50 chance) or by throwing the ball at the top of a jump.
The Neo version you do supers by using a *sorry SNK fans but that's what it's called* Street Fighter scheme. Quarter circle forward for super throws. You can then, after you MAX bar is up, perform a TEAM super throw by entering F, QCF+Throw.
A super block/counter is only present in the Neo version. You do this by entering a Dragon Punch motion, F, D, DF+Throw.
Interesting differences between the GBA and the Neo.
On the GBA you can do a Super Throw or a Super Pass!
Every character has two supers (one running, one jumping), say Mole Ball when jumping. You can only throw Mole Ball. But, if another character performs a Super Pass *pressing pass at the top of his jump, say* the ball will flash and when you throw it you'll perform HIS super throw...Meteor Storm perhaps. This is very cool and adds a lot of strategy to your teams...You should avoid doing this with people who throw Roullete balls for example should avoid Super Passes, as it can comeback to strike your own team.
Also you can call for an alley-oop. Press the R shoulder and one of your characters will charge the other team. You can then pass to him or use him as a decoy. You can even send all 3 teammates at once!
You HAVE to do this when playing another person. It's the only way to really confuse them.
whewww....
So, TheWorm2...yes it's a very good game. It's probably my favorite series of games *I did own SuperDodgeBall.com for a while <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> *
And if you spot the MVS of it, pick me up an additional copy.
