If you like NES Super Dodgeball or GBA Dodgeball Advance then you will like the Neo Geo version. The main difference is that in the Neo version you have outrageous super moves (including team moves) that involve doing controller motions (fireball motions and whatnot) the graphics are pretty good..certainly passable for the type of game it is, and the sound is decent too.

And of course it is hella rare, so you can leave it in your machine and invite Neo-heads over and watch em drool.

I'm not talking about the moves that involve running and throwing the ball (which is how all the other ones work) In the Neo version it has quarter circle and half circle controller motion super moves...as well as super returns.

Actually the Neo Geo version has a different Super scheme from all others.

On GBA and NES and all other platforms, you perform a super throw by pressing throw on your third step of a run up (this is a variable on GBA that you can tweak so you'll always throw whne running, or even if you time it perfectly it's still a 50/50 chance) or by throwing the ball at the top of a jump.

The Neo version you do supers by using a *sorry SNK fans but that's what it's called* Street Fighter scheme. Quarter circle forward for super throws. You can then, after you MAX bar is up, perform a TEAM super throw by entering F, QCF+Throw.

A super block/counter is only present in the Neo version. You do this by entering a Dragon Punch motion, F, D, DF+Throw.

Interesting differences between the GBA and the Neo.

On the GBA you can do a Super Throw or a Super Pass!

Every character has two supers (one running, one jumping), say Mole Ball when jumping. You can only throw Mole Ball. But, if another character performs a Super Pass *pressing pass at the top of his jump, say* the ball will flash and when you throw it you'll perform HIS super throw...Meteor Storm perhaps. This is very cool and adds a lot of strategy to your teams...You should avoid doing this with people who throw Roullete balls for example should avoid Super Passes, as it can comeback to strike your own team.

Also you can call for an alley-oop. Press the R shoulder and one of your characters will charge the other team. You can then pass to him or use him as a decoy. You can even send all 3 teammates at once!

You HAVE to do this when playing another person. It's the only way to really confuse them.

whewww....

So, TheWorm2...yes it's a very good game. It's probably my favorite series of games *I did own SuperDodgeBall.com for a while *

And if you spot the MVS of it, pick me up an additional copy.

the GBA allows you to perform different throws based on direction pushes as well. such as tossing the ball up in the air and having it hover over an oppenent's head, etc.

Incorrect.

The only way to perform a special throw is by the methods I mentioned earlier.

There are no throws, super or otherwise, that can be activated by button or direction presses.

A super throw is performed ONLY on the third step of a run up, or at the height of a jump.

Like I said, you can tweak this on the GBA in the Options menu by adjusting the "Super" level. You can adjust it so you will always throw a super provided you're running or jumping.

Sorry, but I'm afraid you're mistaken Bugula.

hmmm...then you might want to tell my cart that it's wrong cuz it seems too much of a coincidence to be able to throw specials while a button's pressed but not by any other means.

ok, ok....it was a big coincidence. once i did a dash and let go of right the throw comes out. what is strange is that when i was pushing up, thinking i was controlling the throw, the player would do the hover attack. damn you. i no longer like this game now.
