Needing a Pentium 3 CPU for an older Gateway machine. Its an Essential 450 and it has a BX chipset and 100MHz system bus. Motherboard is an Intel (Tabor3) BX Motherboard R3.

Looking for atleast an 800MHz P3 in a slot one cart. I am pretty sure with the last bios upgrade it would support up to 1GHz, but on a 100MHz bus.

Also, looking for some ram for this machine. Would like atleast 1 128meg PC100 dimm or a pair of 256 meg dimms. Low density, non ECC stuff.

If anyone is interested in trades, I still have a bunch of stuff in this thread.

Otherwise I can pay via paypal, but I ain't dropping a bunch of coin on nearly 10 year old cpu technology.

Let me know, thx.

I've got a slot 1 to socket 370 adapter.

This way you could use any socket 370 CPU.

I used to run a slocket card, and they're great with the right board. 440BX chipset's good for slockets, but I'm sure overclocking on a Gateway's not so hot.

Well, this box is going to be a file server running either FreeBSD or some linux variant. Might see Win 2K. Dunno yet. So I have no interest in any overclocking on it.

I was avoiding the slocket adaptor just because typically slot 1 P3's are pretty cheap already.

But I am not opposed to it.

High-end PIII slot 1 CPUs are a little more expensive than their Socket 370 counterparts, especially the ~1GHz units.

Send me a PM if you want it.

I find it hard to believe that noone has anything like this available.

C'mon.
