No. According to my friend Rade, the DC version has sound effects coming in late, sometimes by as much as a second, as the game has to get the sound files off the disk on the fly.

is it worth it?

let's see- you're getting a near carbon-copy of one of SNK's best (and final) fighters for their neo system- and it runs about $500
LESS than the homecart.

FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's not even a question- shit!

yes its worth it if you don't own a NG version.its a perfect port with every frames of animation intact and the graphics have been cleaned up a little. It also has VGA support. The voices are not much of a problem unless you set it on arrange soundtrack.the sound effects are spot on with the arcade version.

LOL. The game is perfect. Very Perfect. Except for the sound. It did not really bother me at first, but lately, it really has so I am starting up a fund to get my hands on the JAP AES version. Donations are welcome.

If you donate 5 dollars, I will draw you picture.

Agreed. If you don't have it for Home Cart or MVS, it's definitely a worthy purchase. I bought the Japanese version even though I had the home cart just because I was excited it was coming out for another system.

Yeah, the sound's off...but so what? It's not THAT big a deal, and if you're unfamiliar with the game it won't be a distraction at all.

Well for the record please said it straight:

Is the sound off ALL the time or only when you play the arranged music?

I don't have this game on cart - not sure if I want it either. It has no Mai!!

The sound(voices) is off either in AST or OST.I recommend using OST cos' its less noticable. In AST,its much more worse,i've tried it.Still not much of a distraction. Its perfect port in every way except for the lag in voices.

The DC could run the game perfectly like the arcade version if SNK concentrated more on cleaning up the voices.

If you're poor, I suggest you pick up this game on Dreamcast.

Otherwise, spend about $50 more and get the MVS. I play the MVS alot. When you port a game on another system, you HAVE to make sure that it's as close as it can possibly get. In my opinion, SNK did not do a very good job in this department. Rade mentioned that the voice tracks come out too late...sometimes as much as a second or two. To me, that's just unacceptable. Dreamcast has the power to make this a perfect port...why didn't SNK choose to do this?!! It boggles my mind! Even when you set the game to the original, some of the music just do not sound right...especially stage introductions.

My advice? If you're a poor person, pick it up. If not, get the MVS. The real thing is always better.

If you think $90 is too much for the real MVS, then yes, go buy it. However, at the last fighting game tournament I went to, I brought my MVS and Supergun. I told everyone "once you play the real Garou, you'll throw away that Dreamcast piece of shit." Well, they didn't throw there copies away but, they definitely agreed with me.

Why buy the real Garou?

-No loading times at all
-Voice tracks come up right on time
-No lag
-No SHITTY, remixed, crappy music

You'll just have to weigh your choices. However, if you get the DC one, I almost guarantee that you'll be wanting something more...

Is it just me or does the dreamcast Fatal fury: Motw run a little slow.
I recently have been playing cap vs snk 2 and have it really fast so to just switch to playing fatal fury motw it seems so slow compared to it as if something isnt right with my actual Game Disk either way I love it and say buy it :)

YES!!!!! DEFINETLY BUY IT!!!!!!!!! its awsome!!!

I haven't noticed the lag, but i dont own or have played the neo-geo original.

It is such a good game!! ...its worth it...I bourght the japanese import last weekend for alot more than normal second hand games are, and its worth every penny!!!....

The load times arent like what people are saying here....you only have to wait a couple of seconds...not like a minute or anything. Its nothing that your really going to notice and it only does it when loading the first stage. Its nothing thats going to piss you off.

I use the original Dreamcast arcade stick and it makes the game so much better to play...definetly get an arcade stick for this game if you haven't got one already!...
I've been playing Garou more than my trusty Capcom games of late.

Sorry about rambing.....just BUY IT!!! :D
