Hi.

I had a buddy of mine try to put in my Wiikey Chip, cause I was busy, and hey, he offered. WHOOPS bricked.

NOW....

Its not exactly bricked, just the DVD has that common "Dead" Appearance. I've read things about bypassing the fuse, and what not, and was wondering if anyone was willing to provide this service for me. I'm not even sure if thats the quick fix, so, any knowledge of the problem is definitely appreciated. Also, Re-installing the chip would be nice.

Wii boots just fine and dandy. Drive does not spin/accept discs/Read discs, However, when turning of and on, you do hear the motor, and it will take discs at that time. You can play VC, Internet.... anything that doesn't involve Discs.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

I was pretty bummed yesterday, perhaps theres hope.

I assume your friend is buying you another one?

I wasn't aware the Wii's DVD drive had any sort of fuse.

Thats not right. He didnt pay his buddy to put it in. His buddy was trying to do him a favor and now you think he should be stuck with replacing the console? Not cool.
