Planet Zero Arcade (Houston, TX.)

So I was back in Houston last week and decided to check out a new arcade on Westheimer (one of the main drags in the city). The arcade is Planet Zero, and it caters to people like us pretty much. Japanese cabs, snacks, drinks, etc etc.

There were KOF posters on the walls, a chill room with retro consoles all around. I didn't take nearly enough pics, but I'm moving back to Houston in June, so if anyone wants more pics I would be happy to oblige

They have back to back Japanese style candies for fighting games, GGXX(whateverversionit'suptonow), SFIII:TS, KOFXI, Arcana Heart, etc etc.

They have a Sega Blast City with Shiki2 in it, DDR Supernova, Pop N' Music 12, F-Zero GX JPN cabs, some drift racing cab(s), and tons more. Here are some pics I snapped while I was there.

Just thought some of you might like to know that there are still badass arcades around outside of Japan

Nice looking place, open with plenty of space to walk around. I just wish they'd have Virtua Fighter 5. How are the prices there? After watching the YouTube video I saw other people's comments saying it was expensive.

I love going to that place I may go this weekend

They use those stupid-ass cards that most arcades use nowdays, so I didn't pay attention really. I spent $20 bucks and left, so I didn't even notice the prices

Looks nice.

I'd happily pop a few bucks into the pudgy white kid a few days of the week if I had a place like that in my area.

Ive never seen a sitdown candy in the uk. Ive never seen an atomiswave setup in the uk. Ive never seen SF3 in the uk. Ive never seen VF5 in the uk. Ive never even seen an MVS cab in the UK.

We get shit shooting cabs, driving cabs, woodies that dont work etc.

Damnit Qube why couldn't you have come down while I was on Spring Break. But you're moving back?! We so gotta hang out sometime.

Planet Zero kicks ass, shame there aren't any Neos running (Stargate spoiled me). Speaking of the Stargate, Chris was there when I went.

BTW, if you saw DAN or AMK (I forget which I put in) in the high scores on KOF XI for versus battles, that was me I had a streak of 13 before people stopped playing against me.

They need a IIDX cabinet.

damn I wish there was an arcade like that here in Baltimore, that looks super badass

While Planet Zero is indeed awesome looking, I'm more of a fan of the hole in the wall style ala Family Fun Arcade. Really feels like I'm in the 1980's everytime I go there.

Wish I could visit there.

Damn I didn't even know about that place, looks badass. I'm checking that place out before I move back to MI for sure.

Ps. Qube, how long will you be in the Detroit region for again?
