Wow!!!
After all this time I'm writing something different on the forum!!! A lot of new faces here so I don't know everyone and they probably don't even know of me but I like being mysterious
smile.gif

This is going to be one of 'those' threads by the way.

What kind of thread do you ask?

The kind where I sit down and realize I'm playing Lunar Eternal Blue again!!!! On my SegaCD of all things!!!! Why? I loved the game a lot and for some reason I just couldn't fully swallow the PS remix. I've just defeated Borgon that 'Fatarsed' wizard and feel pretty good knowing how much of a pain in he ass he was on the SegaCD version.

From there I dusted off an ole Genesis Cart from the shelf and popped in COLOUMNS. Yes you read it right. The game being another Tetris ripoff I still enjoyed a lot over Tetris itself. I sat there and played for about 40 minutes before I realized I was having fun. After that I decided what the hell let's go really fruity and popped in Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition. I have only one gripe about the which was the poor voiceovers but the Genesis overall did a great job and no matter what ANYONE says the Genesis 6 button pad was WAY better that the Snes for Street Fighter HANDS DOWNS.

After beating on M.Bison with Guile, Zangief, Blanka and Chun-Li,I moved onto the mood for a good shooter. I decided what the hell let's make this a Genesis day and loaded up in order. M.U.S.H.A., ThunderForce III and Lighting Force. Now these are what classic shooters are about! Being able to sit down and just blast away for hours on end and not worry about how many pologons does that boss have or what's the frame count on the huge sprite. Simple Classic Fun.

Finally for the day and feeling like some downtime of sorts from the Hand-Eye coordination factor I said 'Ok. It's RPG time again' Instead of jumping back on Lunar,I proceeded to work on finishing Shining in the Darkness again. This is still a classic game and what i consider one of Climax's best works. Made it pretty far this time around. Finally on Level 5 but I'm bsing around trying to get Rare Weapons and Items from Monsters with the 'Muddle 2' Spell. Once I get a Super Flail and an Ogre Horn, I'll finally stomp Dark Sol into the dirt.

Now why am I typing all this? No reason really. If I DID have one, It would be to say that even with the newer games and systems coming out, I never get tired of a classic. From Final Fantasy III, Phantasy Star II & III*Yes I liked Part III. Deal with it*, To old games like Contra, Life Force, and even old school Streets of Rage which I make a note to play once a week out of respect for Yuzo & Sega who I both love for this game, that in the end no matter how GOOD new games are, You can never beat a classic. So those of you who are bailing on your Dreamcast systems like hot Potato's and call yourselves gamers, SHAME ON YOU!! When you buy a System, Don't sell it becuase it might be dying. You'll find yourself kicking yourself in the ass everytime you think, Man I really liked that game on my Dreamcast, Snes or Genesis*Or Insert Favorite system of choice*. In the end Yes I'm happy about newer games coming out. I'm not Happy about how people I've met treat their old systems like junk. It may be just games to you but if you found yourself enjoying that game, Then you need to give it more respect. There I've said my peace...

BonusKun!!! You are a VERY cool dude in my book. Yup people ... never give up your DC!!! It's the best Sega system that there ever is!! Anyway, here are mine:

The Legend of Zelda- A Link to the Past: Oh yeah, baby! I'm a nintendo fan too! Actually it's one of my first games when getting my SNES. Large Dungeons, Amazing Bosses, Puzzles and gripping storyline (My adrenaline was pumping when I was fighting Ganon... he was damn difficult)... A great RPG/Action game from the geniuses at Nintendo.

Street Fighter Alpha 2: The KING of fighting games on my Sega Saturn.. Oh man, I loved this game. Music was the best that I ever heard, and the characters were fabulous
(like Sodom, Sagat & the return of Capcom's No.1 wrestler, Zangief). Survival mode was breathtaking & the illustrations were great. It's much better than the cruddy PSX version. A classic to own.

Saturn Bomberman: BOOOOOOM!! The 'Man's best game ever!! The anime intro was real funny
biggrin.gif
and the multiplayer mode was a blast! From 6-10 players!! It was a great game and I'm still playing it now.

Capcom vs SNK: Yes.. My best and currently most played game on my DC. The greatest crossever in the history of fighting games. And what a crossover! (Of course, I hope CvS2 would be better). A sweet mix of SNK and Capcom gaming into one game... and you can at last pit Terry vs Ryu!!

Rival Schools (well, duh!): Of course I'd say that! Even though the graphics weren't that good.. I had a blast with the game. It's Capcom's best storyline game.. which rivals that of the KOF stories. Mini-Games, Tournament modes, survival and tons of things in that game made it a memorable experience.

That's the best that I can think now, there are a lot others that I like!

Edit: I forgot these!

Super Smash Brothers
Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter
Super Mario 64

Streets of Rage 2: The best walk along Beat em up ever! I play this game at least once a month..... best music on Megadrive, Brilliant Graphics.... Hell, I even know all of the bad guys names off by heart! Brilliant stuff.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles: Awesome platformer.. loads to see and do, almost perfect in fact.

Gunstar Heroes: Simply Brilliant. Words don't do it justice.

Marvel Super Heroes Vs Streetfighter: Best vs game ever, the Saturn version is way beyond the coin-op.

and Rainbow Islands: The time I actually played through that whole game, and got through the 3 hidden levels remains one of the best gaming experiences of my life....

Sparkster (SNES): White-knuckle side scrolling action. This is HARDCORE-the music, the graphics, animation, setting...everything kicks so much @$$. Donkey Kong Country? Sheah, right! BTW, it's the sequel to Rocket Knight Adventures on Genesis, which is also a great game.

Chrono Trigger (SNES): It's cool to buy a game when it first comes out and find out it's going for over $80 on eBay. It just makes me treasure it more
smile.gif

Knights of the Round, King of Dragons (SNES)-I love medieval settings. Both of these games are excellent.

eee... i feel a little out of place here. I don't have as many games as you people do, and i only have had mainstream systems up until a little while ago.

I acquired my Neo sometime in January, and i got my saturn a few weeks ago from a friend for (the best deal ever) $25!! he even threw in 2 games and 2 pads! wow!

Well, i can't wait to get Guardian Heroes.
I gave my genesis away to a friend, because no matter how hard i try, i just can't like it. another thing tho, my pads i had were shot to hell, so it wasn't very good anyway.

I'm a real picky person. I have had a Nintendo, an SNES, and an n64.

the nintendo i would have kept, but it broke

the SNES i had almost no quality games, and i hated the system anyway. I was willing to part with it. I must be the only one on earth who hates SNES. oh well...

The N64 was just shit. Horrible games, shitty controller, EXTREMELY Fuzzy graphics, and games with no replay value. I owned that system for something like 4 years, and throughout that entire time i only owned four games.(Mario, Shadows of the Empire, Goldeneye, Bomberman 64). They all sucked except for Mario, which was a quality game. I totally began to hate N64 when gay people at my school began to obsess over frickin Goldeneye. It sucks! it's so not fun and it gets really old, really fast.

Another thing you might want to note is that i'm HIGHLY anti-nintendo. I don't like how they produce shitty kiddy games because they know that the majority of people who have N64 are young kids. The number of M games are probably in the teens, and the entire system itself is soo sellout-ish. WIth the entire pokemon thing going on, N64 was just sitting on a goldmine. I'd really like some thoughts on this....

Back on topic, I'm not really a hardcore classic gamer, i've been a PS bitch for a while

one game that stands out in my mind is Alpha/Zero 3, my favorite street fighter. I have it on the PS , and all because of fookin buttface BioMotor, i have to go buy the Saturn version because he told me it was the best Zero 3 console version... bastard...

All for now.

bye.

Do not just take my word for it. I am going to start a topic in UnRelated Topics about the best console version of SF Zero 3, and you can see what other people say. Then you can spread the blame around.

i have yet to come to a game that i _REALLY_ enjoy, like play EVERY day for more than like a week or 2 (except sonic that is). well here are some of my favorites:

Any Sonic game (sonic jam is the best, all of em in one place mostly, cept sonic cd...which is probably my favourite, but i just realized its extremely easy/short)

Mega Man X4 (i loved this game, the saturn version of course...must beaten it 10 times at least)

Transbot (master system shooter...one of the best i've ever played)

Grandia (i love this game, but i still havent finished it, im just really lazy. i obviously have to play the psx one, but i do have the saturn version, map and all)

Sonic Adventure 2 (well, it may not be out yet...but from the demo this game looks to own me. it really does go back to sonic's roots)

KOF '99 (best kof in my oponion...and its only $10 for psx! i just got it the other day, but i just felt sooo wrong buying a sony product, i want the dc or mvs version)

ok, so sue me...i'm a loser

oh yea...i forgot about paperboy for nes. that games ownz j00

Here's some of the best multiplayer gaming you can get, we (~4 people) play these games for hours on the weekends.

Rush 2049: Four player battle mode in this is Dreamcast multiplayer at its BEST.

Time Splitters: The only PS2 game we keep coming back to. 4P mode flys.

Street Fighter Alpha 3: PSX and DC are ok, but I have the CPS2 version in a cab that we play this on. Weekly tourneys. (Karin rules!)

Windjammers: I don't have to tell you why

Balloon Fight: NES madness

Bomberman Party Edition(PSX): We don't have access to SNES Super Bomberman 2 so this will have to do :P

As you can imagine, there's a lot of cable switching behind the TV

1)KOF 98 -> nothing can top this game. except an update to 98 with more characters and more balance.

2)Radiant SIlvergun -> best shooter ever!!!!! its sad that not many ppl will get the chance to play it

3)SOR2 -> classic side scrolling beat em up. Mania mode rocks!!!!!!

4)Dynamite duke -> finish in 20 minutes with quite a body count. Ideal quick stress reliever.

5)Chrono Trigger -> Best freaking RPG ever. Not like the overrated Chrono Cross. hhhmm, isn't every Square RPG after ffvii overrated?

Seiken Densetsu 3 - My personal favorite SNES game. Chrono Trigger is awesome, but this game pwnzes.
Ogre Battle - Another SNES gem that nobody plays.
Tales of Phantasia - It's spelled with a P.
SvC Cardfighters - I had 70-some hours on it before my idiot little brother decided to mess with it. Ooo, I was so mad.
KoF '98 - Duh.
Garou: MotW - Also Duh.
Last Blade 1 & 2 - Do I gotta tell ya why?
Metal Slug 1, 2 & X - Sometimes, you just gotta blast the crap outta stuff.
