ATTN: Viewpoint Masters!

At one time, I was pretty good at the game, but there is one thing I've never figured out. On page 9 of the instruction manual, it says:

"WHEN TAKING OPTIONS AT THE RIGHT TIME .... (WE CAN'T TELL YOU EVERYTHING!)"

Does ANYONE have the slightest idea what they're talking about. I've tried detonating bombs just before getting the pods. I've tried getting them while being at various levels of my "Power Wave". Anyone know what's up?

P.S.-Everone probably knows this, but I just realized that with a debug chip, you get the option of being able to play two player similtanious. Very cool!

I don't think anyone can decipher the poor translations in the manual!!

I suck at that game! I prefer vertical scrollers. Like Tyrian or Raptor!

Viewpoint IS a vertical shooter! Just prop your tv up on an angle!

I think the options thing might just be telling you how you can pick up lost options when you die (if you have it set so that you come in right after dying/2 player simultaneous). It might just be trying to say how you can use the options as 'blockers' against some enemies?
