I know I'm risking flames here, but I just found something very cool.
There is a program that will allow you to play a Mame ROM against others over the internet.
Translation to the Neo world: Online multiplayer MOTW and KOF98, among others!

Now before you start telling me how bad roms are, let me speak my peace.
Most of us on here own a lot of neo games, be it on CD, MVS, or AES. Therefore it is legal to download and keep a game ROM to emulate on your PC, and even if you don't own the specific game, playing it online might entice you to buy it to play on a real Neo system.
Now I don't know about you other people, but it's kinda hard to find other people to play against in Neo games, especially people who are really good who you can learn from. With something like this we would be able to play against each other (our friends from these boards) across states and countries. Think of what it could do to the Neo scene.

I found the info at www.gamecombos.com check it out.

Peace

This is perfectly legal on the condition you own the original.
The thing is if you do not, after 24 hours, you become a neo theif.
Just be careful people, roms hit companies hard ... hno:

Yeah, I know it's legal, which is why I think we could have like a online tourney?

Hey if you can set sometyhing up for people on DSL etc.
Then yeah the tourney could be a reality.
Hell I got like 40 fighters or so.
I could legally be a part of this.
Whats your call?

Only problem would be online delay lags.... and for a fighter, its essential to have split second control.... other that that, it would be really cool

From what I've read, as long as you have a fast connection (Cable/DSL) lag isn't a problem. I'm on cable, I don't know what everyone else has.

Not to burst anyones bubble here, but kaillera is old news. Ive been using it since Jan.

People with dialup don't even try to play online, you won't be able too. However if you have DSL/Cable and play on a game server on your coast, you'll have lag free games.

I play games like SF Alpha 3, Xmen VS. SF, Samurai 4 and KOF 98, and I have totally lag free play. It's not even an issue.

I use a PSX arcade stick. They make PSX-PC usb controller adaptors. Or you could buy a MAS Systems arcade stick (They make them for the PC now). Or if you wanna go all out buy a hotrod, but since I don't need 2 controllers, I didn't get one.
