Edit: eclypse has sold me the two MV-ELD LCD panels now all I need is a MV-ELA LCD circuit board and cables to hook it up to the panels. :glee:

I may also need help tracking down an inverter and the plexi maquee holder - but I might fabricate the marquee holder myself if I can't get one.

------

I have a 4 slot cab where the original marquee setup has been gutted (leaving only the speakers intact) and the lights replaced with a fluorescent bulb.

I'd like to restore this cab to stock conditions. Please respond if you can help me out. I live in Windsor, Ont. Canada.

This is what I'm currently working with...

PM replied to..

I'm going to see if I can find someone with them...They do turn up on Ebay sometimes.

..I can get the driver(untested) and the panels(with dead bulbs).,,I can't get the wiring though../maybe something that can be made to work.

I'm sorry as I'm always here to help ...I won't ship out of the US..Way too many nightmares told here with doing so.:oh_no:

I won't put myself in such a nightmare.no way...sorry..

Hopefully I can find you someone that has them for sale.

Your cab looks kinda like what mine did when i first got it. Though i didnt have the speaker board.. Just had the speakers bolted to the metal cover panel.

I was able to buy a replacement wood panel from a guy on ebay.

You'll most likely have to either buy a new wood panel or make one as they cut that speaker panel in half.

I have a spare light panel set for ya. Only 2 lights out of 4 work. I dont have a extra circuit board though.. I have an extra wire for it though.. The one that goes from the power supply and 4 slot board to the MV-ELA LCD circuit board. The only wire you'll need is the one that goes from the light panel to the circuit board.

I'll post some pics of it real quick.

eclypse,

How much are you willing to let those light sets and wire go for?

If I got those, all I'd need is the circuit board, wire from light panel to circuit - and an inverter I think?

Pretty sure my cab doesn't have an inverter, probably gutted with the original marquee lights.

Yes all you'll need is the inverter board and the wire that goes from the A board light panel and the inverter.. Actually its the same cable that goes between the two boards, only a little longer.

Its not a big deal if these dont work as its the norm.. Pretty tough to find a working set and if you did they will prob die soon anyways.

Theres a guy on these forums that will repair the light panels and even can sell you the inverter.. but his version wont switch between light panels.. It only lights all 4 panels up at all times. But its an option if you cant find one. Note that you'll need a set of panels for him to repair as he dont sell them. Heres the link to the thread where you can find more info.. Click here

I recently bought a supposivly "Fully Working" set of light panels off of ebay and ofcourse they didnt work! Paid $160 shipped thanks to another member on these forums bidding it up the last 3 secs. Only the first light works fully and the other 3 are very dimm and on there way out.. So i'll will also be getting ahold of that guy that can replace the lights.

You'll also need a plexy glass marquee holder as well. .Thats the part that holds the marquees to the light panels.. You could make one is worse comes to worse.

Thanks for the follow-up eclypse!

Hopefully chris1 can help me find the other misc parts that I need. eBay hasn't been much help with regards to the marquee situation.

Glad I have these forums to rely on, and the fine members like eclypse and chris1!

I have an extra one of those circuit boards and the cable that connects it to the lights. The cable is short (1 foot or so). Not sure what it's worth but shoot me a PM, I'm sure we can work something out. It's always good to see someone restoring a Neo Cab to it's former glory :)

So the MV-ELA LCD circuit board and the inverter are the same thing? Not two seperate items?

I was confused about that. Would make things a lot easier.

heyyyy...I always put in big proxy bids near the end of an acution to make sure that I win what Im bidding on. I had no clue you were gonna bid that high. Wasnt trying to drive the price up, as I figured I was going to get them for like 50 or so.

Did anyone in this thread still have an MV-ELA they wanted to get rid of? My cabinet has one, but I want to pick up a second one for troubleshooting purposes. Let me know!

Actually, scratch that. I just found another thread explaining the high pitched squealing issue. Two of my four light panels are bad/dead. That's the issue. Now to investigate replacing those!
