so i walked into an EB games on my way back to work from lunch and bought a white and black DS lite, just off the truck...black was for a co-worker. i'm completely excited about the purchase especially since it's coupled with a Wii in the mail (BIG). i was looking for a good case for it online, mainly at play-asia. i was wondering if anyone had an opinion on any of these cases or any others i didn't list. also, let me know of any "must-have" games for the DS...even extremely good GBA games. i've been out of handhelds since my first Game Boy and Game Gear.

I can't really say anything about the cases as I don't have either of them. I CAN however recommend that you visit cheapassgamer.com and use the coupon code they offer for a quick $5 off.

Trauma Center and Kirby: Canvas Curse.
Those should tide you over for a good while.

I've been hooked on Zoo Keeper for days now. Best $15 game I've played in awhile. Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 is a unique puzzler as well, and damn if Super Princess Peach isn't a fun little platformer. Sure it's easy but it's a fun game.

I picked up a case for mine for $.99 from Play-Asia. It's a basic cloth one with a nice soft lining. Suits my needs since I just wanted something simple, it won't see any rough hauling or anything.

What kind of games you like? I can recommend Animal Crossing and Castlevania for everyone. These two games are the reason, why I bought DS in the first place.

Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary looks interesting puzzle game, but it's released only in Japan at the moment. OmegaSaber mentioned ZooKeeper, which is really nice puzzle. You can find various flash games of ZooKeeper over the internet. Try to google it and test, if you're interested. Nowadays you can get it for 20$.

Elite Beat Agent, Castlevania (DoS or PoR) and Phoenix Wright are my favorite games.

Any one play Phoenix Wright Justice for all, I wonder if its any good.

I haven't played it but every review indicates that it is more of the same. So if you like the first one chances are you will like the second.

i just started talking to this one kid that came to the info desk with his mom
at school with a black ds. i started talking his ear off about ds and gba games.
the funny thing was that the kid obviously had a.d.d. and i was just going
on and on, and he was just dieing to say something.
it was after i finished up on of those energy drinks by mountain dew.
tasted like shit. but it had me hopped up for a few minutes.
i'm pretty sure his mom thought i was batshit insane.

Yeah, I wasn't still sure if the price was that low. But for 15$ it's must-have!

I've yet to find a case I really like. They all have some element of "cheese" that ruins it for me. The Hori ones are tempting though.

Castlevania's and Elite Beat are recommended as everyone else also said.

yea i'll probably end up grabbing one of those hori packs. i've also been looking for a sleeve for the DS for just throwing it in my pocket to take it to work or whatever. basically like the thin foam baggie they come packaged in when bought new. i've had zero luck finding anything like this as well.

Everybody is mentioning Zoo Keeper, but there's one game that everybody is overlooking here that's way better, and that's Meteos.

A fine title if I may say so. You can probably find it really cheap too.

Meteos is good, but I'd take Zoo Keeper over it. Both are great puzzlers though.

And for a good "sleeve" type case, I'd check out the little Nintendo licensed ones that Gamestop and EB (other places as well, but they're always at these stores) carry for $10. They usually have a Nintendo character or the DS logo on them, but they're a thin foam sleeve with a small velcro strap on top to keep the system from slipping out. They're nice for just casually taking it around with you, more for if you don't need to take any extra games as well though.

if anyone is looking for a REALLY nice case, check out the cases that were designed for UNITED ARROWS in japan. a bunch of different designers did cases for them.

i got the case by "beauty & youth". it's really nice and made from italian leather. it did cost me about $80 but it was totally worth it. 'tis nice.

the only problem may be getting them in the US, but if you really want one i'm sure it won't be hard to get from ebay or a local import store.

i want a case that will allow me to play the DS from the case, and store some games, one because i don't like getting fingerprints on the system (they print up so easy with that clear coat they have) and two because i have several games i want to play but don't want to carry em all around.
