I think I know why Street Fighter IV is taking it's sweet time in the development stage.
I saw that Capcom recently teamed up with Taito to use their new Type X arcade hardware. This is great and all, but it got me thinking. The new Taito Type X system is heavily based off a PC, and even runs XP Embedded if I'm correct. From what I understand, this has enough potential to be hacked (easier than others, say.. CPS2 so to speak.) So why wouldn't Capcom use Taito Type X for Street Fighter IV? If it's as popular as any of their previous Street Fighter titles, they don't want it stolen or bootlegged and as such, are developing their own, new arcade hardware specifically for Street Fighter IV.
What do you guys think? Just a thought. I also think it would be interesting to see SF4 go up against the new KOF coming out, you know, the "ultimate 2d fighter"
