I realize that it is unlikely that anyone else picked this up but thought I would post this just in case. The USA version just came out and the Japanese version is 9.90 at PlayAsia.

The game features Wi-Fi play and also has local single card and multi-card play. With single card play though, you can't use a team you have created and it is a pretty basic match.

The game looks like ass (as most sports games have looked on the DS so far) but I like the way it plays. I moved all of the button configs around for offense and defense and I am enjoying it. When you win a game, you get a coin which can be used to buy players from other teams and add to your own. There is also a nice team creation mode. Very basic but it lets you draw your team logo ect. The tools for this work really well.

The game is probably a 7/10. If someone picks up the cheaper Japanese version, I would be happy to list what the screens are.

My friends code is:506898102771

EDIT:Well I just played my first Wi-Fi match and there was no lag at all. I was up 1-0 in extra time of the 2nd half and the fucking loser disconnects. There does not appear to be any system set up to punish idiots like this. It would have been nice if they at least allowed the computer to take over for the guy so that I could have got the win. What a fucking poor sport.

I have an older camera, I will take some pics tonight and see what they look like. If that doesn't work, I would be happy to post each option in order and answer any questions for you.

The game auto saves, so you won't have any problems there.

I have been busy and haven't had a chance to take any pictures yet.

Here is the basic menu translation, just to get you started. *=The start up screen main catagories. The Sub catagories are listed once you select the main catagory.

.....New Game
.....Continue
(Once you start World Tour, it will always have you on continue)
..........Match
..........Set Formation
..........Match Results
..........To Gacha-get
..........To Mode Select Menu
(At the bottom you will see your gold/silver coins used to purchase new players in Gacha-get) I am saving mine until I face the good teams, as you can only take a player from a team that you have beaten.

*Network
.....Multi-Play
.....Nintendo WFC
.....Trade Player
.....Friend Roster

*Konami Cup
.....New Game
.....Continue

*Original Team
.....Edit Team
.....Gacha-get (Available once you win a game in World Tour)

*Overall Results

*Training
.....Free Training
.....Free Kick

*Edit
.....Team
.....Players

*Option
.....Match Settings
..........Game Length
..........Extra Time-On/Off
..........PK-On/Off
..........Cursor Change-Semi-Auto/Manual
..........Bottom Screen-Formation/Radar
..........Ball Color
.....Sound Settings
(Move bar left or right to desired volume)
.....Button Configuration
(I have already adjusted the orginal settings) Attack/Defense
Switch Languages (English or Spainish) Probably not in your version
.....Clear Data

I created my team and design prior to playing a match. You can use your team on Wi-Fi as well as in the World Tour Mode. The World Tour Mode is where you play against the rest of the world. As you beat teams, you get Gold/Silver coins in which you can aquire other players from the teams you have beaten. Your first bracket has ten teams in it. You can not progress until you have beaten every team in the bracket. Wins and Losses count towards your overall record but don't effect your ability to move on in World Tour. You can lose to a team ten times but once you beat them, you don't have to face them again. (It puts a mark by each team that you have beat.

I have probably put about four hours into the game and I am 14% done. I am in the second bracket and have 1 Gold Coin and 10 Silver Coins. Every Match (even exhibition) counts towards you over all record, so keep that in mind. I started out 0-8 but I am now 11-11-1. I switched to formation B and my team seems to improve the more I play.

I will try to take some pics when I get the chance and would be happy to answer any questions you have.

It is a good deal, I posted the PlayAsia deal in my first post but the link is nice. I am playing the USA version but posted the menu translations in case anyone wants to take advantage of the cheap Japanese version. It is a very good game IMO.

Sorry about that...I didn't read your post word for word.

:) I was saying it was good that you posted a link. I only mentioned it in my first post but a link is always nice. $10 is a great deal for this game.

Ordered the Japanese one and it should be with me in the next day or two.

Can I use it to play people who have the US/UK version?

I am hoping that Wi-Fi allows this. I have the USA version but I am hoping I can play against people from around the world. I have only played one Wi-Fi match so far but it seems like the options were Friends or N. America. I am hoping that with friends codes, different (region) versions can connect.

If not, it sounds like a couple of you will have the Japanese version and should be able to play each other.

Doesnt look to bad. Psp version obviously looks better but as long as the gameplay is there then it really shouldnt matter.

It actually is fairly ugly to look at but the game plays well. You have to keep in mind that you are using a D-pad which isn't the best option for control when playing a sports game. Once you learn the angles, it plays well.

I just tried playing Wi-Fi three times and every game was like watching a slide show. I had to turn off each game within the first couple of minutes as it was
unplayable. I hope this is not going to be a problem everytime.

I did notice the options were to play against someone of your skill level, N. America or Friends. I have tried the first two options but all three games came up with ????? for the other guys name. So, either I connected to the same user each time with a shit connection, or maybe I am playing some Konami Bot out there to make me feel like someone else has the game.

Picked this up yesterday. I played only two matches, but it's great so far.

The graphics are pretty dated, but I really like the gameplay. I still need to figure out the shooting though. If I don't get a breakaway, I am sailing the ball waaaay over the goal.

I'd be willing to play wi-fi matches, but the time difference might be a problem. I need to find my wi-fi driver so I can install it on my new computer though.

I agree that break aways are the easiest way to score. I usually wait until the goal keeper makes a move and then I shoot.

You may want to try pushing different directions on the D-Pad when you shoot. It seems like one direction lobs the ball high and the other keeps it down. Of course they reverse when you change sides. I know there is a way to do it but it usually takes too much thinking, so I just try for a break away. Also, how long you hold down the shoot button effects how far it will go.

Do you have the Japanese version or the USA version of the game? I would like to test out some Friends codes to see if they work from different regions.

When you other guys get your copy, please post when you try the Wi-Fi. I have been unable to get a lag free game all day. I have tried about ten different times and it is like watching a game frame by frame. It wasn't like this a couple days ago, so I hope there is a fix for this.

On a side note, I just lost to Norway for the fifth time in a row, every time in the last five seconds. But Norway is a fucking soccer power house.:oh_no:

Currently 20-16-1 Thanks to Norway fucking things up.

Seabass, the guy behind the PS2 versions pf WE actually recommends using the D-pad as the response time is quicker than an analog stick.

Okay, I didn't know that. This is really my first time getting into a Winning Eleven game. (I have been thinking about picking up the 360 version). D-pad works fine, I guess when it comes to shooting, I will just have to get the hang of the angles.

This game has been a lot of fun, I am sure that the console version are fantastic.

As I've probably stated a billion times before, J League Winning Eleven 10 is the best fucking sports game ever made and I doubt it will be bettered.

I am really confused with all the different names that Konami use, in different regions.

Is WE10 = Pro Evo 6/Pro Evo 2007 ?

Not quite.

WE10 = 1st Japanese release
PES6 = PAL version, but quite different to WE10 and not as good IMO
Pro Evo 2007 = US version of PAL PES6
J League WE10 = Japanese only update that pisses all over the other versions

Which makes it even more infuriating, since Pro Evo 2007 is the last game out, wouldn't you think Konami would convert the JL WE10?

You'd have hoped so. If you have a chipped PS2 then download the JL version.

Been playing WE:DS for about 3 hours so far and I'd liken it to WE4 on the PS1.

Current record: 16-0-0 Scored 75 Conceded 4
