Older AES VS Newer AES..Look at the difference on the boards.

My older AES system with Shield plate...Look at all the extra stuff...?

Newer System belonging to a member here,I think the newer AES systems do not have the Shield under the top cover.

Actually I believe that US systems are the ones with the shielding.

Chris1-
Thanks for posting those pix. I've taken apart my Neo before, lotta chips. And i'm in the electronics business so I am naturally interested in this sort of thing.

Would you care to add respective serial numbers of the AES's next to their pics?

Your welcome..I was hoping someone would like to see/use them..Cool..That's great.

This AES pic is of my US version AES system..
Serial # 013323

The other is Tarm's unique..one of a kind system.
If someone sends me pics of the any other AES versions I will post/host them for you to see.

Or if I find them myself.

I have already notice this kind of difference and my thinking is that SNK used less component to save money

It's for the earth lead. All AES's have them fitted... have no clue why SNK removed the earth shield from the Neo•Geo Freak testers system... spock
