So, is this really coming out in the UK in a week or so? Has there been much info on it as to if it will be any good or not?

I loved this game on the PC Engine but am guessing that it is different. However, after Bubble Bobble and New Rainbow Island on the DS, maybe some of these games should be left in the past.

Nevermind...I guess it is already out. I went ahead and ordered one via Ebay. I read a couple write ups about it and it sounds like it is nice update to the original and that it was not fucked up like Bubble Bobble or New Rainbow Island.

So...we will see.

I received this game today and it is very good. It is very colorful and controls great. I loved the PC Engine version but it has been a very long time since I played it. This is similar but seems to be a different game.

You can use the R button to change the direction of your shot, which comes in very handy, since ememies come from all directions. The game controls via the d pad and the buttons are used to jump and shoot. The touch screen is used (so far) to open a door and there are a couple of sections that you have to spot the difference (between the top and bottom screen) and touch it. Doing so is the only way to find the exit. You have to do this while being attacked.

I only played through the first four areas and beat the first boss and I was very impressed. It seems to have unlimited continues (but you start at the begining of the section you were on) and auto saves. There is some challenge in the game, so it will be interesting to see what the difficulty is through out the game.

There is multi-player for up to four players but each player needs a copy of the game. This is much much better than Bubble Bobble and New Rainbow Island, so if you were a fan of New Zealand Story, you may want to look in to this.

EDIT:From reading up a little on it, it appears to be the same version but with some additions made to the game to take advantage of the DS. I didn't remember some of the things that I have seen so far but it has been a long time since I played the original. Also, some of the things couldn't been in the original due to the touch screen. Overall, it is a great game though.
