1 year and a few months into Nintendo DS's lifecycle, the majority of the games with the best WFC vs. play remains Nintendo's first party games. Which got me to thinking... is the charge for WFC usage prohibitive? I can see no reason why the 3rd party games that utilize WFC have some rather half-assed implementation...

In related news, I was at Toys 'R' Us last night and couldn't help but notice that Konami has Wi-Fi Connection vs. play for their new Yu-Gi-Oh GX DS game, which leaves me very non-chuffed that SNK Playmore was unable to implement the WFC play for their CFC DS. I guess there's always Otakon, or other Tri-State get-togethers at which I could game with other members.

I think its just Laziness. SNK is so small I dont think they like to spend any more than they have too.

Look at MSA on the Wii. No CLASSIC CONTROLLER and Gamecube Pads work but only the analog which leaves out arcade sticks.

LAZY!

While that may be a reason, Look at the lack of WFC implementation for lots of other games that are prime candidates for worldwide gameplay...

This is the current list of games that have WFC implementation:

Animal Crossing: Wild World Nintendo
Bomberman Land Touch! Atlus
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin Konami
Clubhouse Games Nintendo
Contact Atlus
Digimon World DS NAMCO BANDAI
Final Fantasy III Square Enix
Konductra O3 Entertainment
LostMagic Ubisoft
Mario Kart DS Nintendo
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis Nintendo
Metroid Prime Hunters Nintendo
Star Fox Command Nintendo
Tenchu: Dark Secret Nintendo
Tetris DS Nintendo
Yu-Gi-Oh RX DS Konami

Overwhelmingly Nintendo titles that have full implementation of worldwide multiplayer.

8 Nintendo Games.

8 third party games.

Seems even to me bok.

Only the Nintendo Games have full worldwide multiplayer implementation. FF3 has that lame Moogle mail, Castlevania has Boss Rush and Shop, Contact turns your friend into an NPC on an Island, and then I don't know about the rest of the other games.

I'm not sure if Tenchu DS can be counted as a 3rd party or Nintendo's, 'cos the license isn't Nintendo's, but apparently Nintendo distributes it.

Exactly. And a large part of that list really doesn't even have real on line. Meaning that there is no real playing, just exchanging ect.

He meant for the developers to use WFC in their games.

Ah, I see.

I must admit I used the WiFi link an absolute ton when my Mario Kart skills were at their peak, but I haven't used it for ages now.

Anyone know if I can run my PSP over the Nintendo WiFi Connector?

Hahahahaha.

Well, really, there are some third party drivers out there that'll let it act as a wireless router, but not very well. I've seen some combo PSP/DS WiFi adaptors, but the Wireless USB thingie is pretty god at connecting Wiis and DS's, and I suspect piss poor at conneting anything else.
