If it can do the first game, it's not much of a stretch to do the second of even third is it? Portable RE2 would kick so much ass.

Sure you can compress the FMVs, but there would be horrible artifacts.
The audio is already compressed to death, you d have annoying hiss if trying to OGG them to reduce the size (they d have to be like 16kbits/s streams).

barf said:Nintendo could develop higher capacity ones, memory is cheap, but that would cost more, increase the access times and reduce the battery life...
Angel said:the DS is 5.5v not 3v so it can do more than 128 based on voltage. Where has it been said 128mb is the max? Resident evil 2 came out for the N64 so why not the DS?
barf said:128 megabytes is not the max for the DS, but that s the max nintendo offers so far (i guess that s due to the already bad DSLite battery life when in max brightness).
Sure, RE2 can be ported from N64 to DS, but not PSX, because as far as i remember them, the FMVs were really heavily compressed and of very bad quality.
I don't care anyway, i can play them right now on the PSP, and will not wait for a port to be made for my DS.
