2.82 psp - what can i do with it? do i really need a 1.5?

im so irritated! can someone please send me a link on a how to faq about how to set up my 2.82 psp to run homebrews or emulators. i have gta liberty city i just dont know where to start...and please - i already been to pspupdates and i cant find what i need. thanks
