They have it on sale at a local store right now for $20.00. I have generally been pleased with most of Atlus' offerings when it comes to portable gaming, but I have heard nothing about this game.

It's still MSRP at Amazon.Com

This little gem is the definition of a sleeper hit.

Just an all-around excellent Action/RPG.

Although it's still early to say, I think I may end up adding this game to my "Favorites" list of GBA games.

The story is cliched as hell; the sound isn't much to speak of, but it gets the job done; the graphics are solid 2D work and the characters are cute (sometimes too cute...) and likable.

Everything else aside, the gameplay is just plain RPG addictive fun.

IGN actually has a review up that I pretty much completely agree with (and that doesn't happen with all too much frequency.)

If you enjoy Action/RPG's then I'd see no reason at all as to why anybody wouldn't pick up this game, since it's easily worth $20 or more (I paid like $30+ something.)

Is Summon Night 2 a huge step up from Summon Night?

I have read about them both but have not picked up either. Is it worth it to play through both or just start with SN 2?

Honestly, you could play 2 with no probs. The summon beast things are a given in the second one, but you'd catch on quick. I think 2 is a lot more polished. But both are great and you could whiz through 1 in about 10-13 hours.

Yeah the game is pretty good. I'm actually halfway through and I like it. Strong story line and a lot of humor.

I know I'm a bit late to the thread, but I just wanted to chime in and give another thumbs-up to SK:SS2.
Excellent little RPG. Pretty much a 'lite' Tales Of.... game. Writing is pretty good (few typos but nothing major), combat is fun, weapon-crafting is easy and overall its a very enjoyable portable RPG.
Also, there are effectively 8 ways to play through the game as you first pick from 2 main characters (boy or girl), then pick from one of 4 sidekicks - each of which has their own unique dialogue.

Game is about 20 hours long - after that you can keep on playing and collecting different weapons, and there is some uber-dungeon to trudge through if you really like grinding.

Anybody know if SK: SS3 is being released in US? I'd really love to see the full series realesed in America.

Last I heard (go check the atlus USA forums for any updates on this BTW) is that Atlus dosent think the USA GBA market is really big enough to support the cost of localising and releasing many more GBA games, so they are kinda reluctant to do it.
From what I gather, their latest GBA releases (Summon Knight 2, Super Robot Taizen 1+2 and Yggdra Union) didnt really set the sales charts alight, so unless they eventually sell large numbers (you never know, the games could be 'slow and steady burners') they wont continue to support the format.

Shame I know, but judging by their future announced line up, Atlus havent stopped releasing quirky Japanese RPG's at all. Just not on GBA.
