What is the best PSP RPG?

I haven't been looking towards the PSP market for a while now so I have no idea what's been released or what is available.

What I want to know is what is the best RPG on the PSP at the moment. I'm not after great graphics, more along the lines of a really large turn based game.

What to look for? What's coming out soon? What to wait for?

I'd say,Valkyrie Profile:Lenneth.

However,if you have access to PSX emulation,then that's a whole 'nother ballgame.

Also,there are quite a few RPGs coming out very soon (Final Fantasy Tactics,Jeanne D'Arc,Disgaea,Riviera,FF: Crisis Core,etc.).

Great game and amazing battle system.

Right now i'm playing the game Astonia story (literallly right now) its a old korean dos game that was made in 1994 and ported to Gp32 and psp, its meant to be a shortish game with the not the best storyline according to Gamefaqs but they love Final fantasy dont they and i hate it. I'm Personally loving the game been on it now for 8 hours and there is alot of internet jokes on it that just makes the game a bit lighter then most Rpg's.

Breath of Fire 3, or Tales of Phantasia (?, or is it Tales of something else). I just don't like Valkyrie Profile much, but if you do, it is supposed to be great.

Depends... there is Tales of Eternia, fantastic game coming from PSX.
and Tales of Phantasia full voice, which is a port of the PSX port of the SNES game.

Graphics of the second are obviously less good (can't say worse for such a fantastic SNES game), but both are really great RPGs to me.


Anyway, my opinion... well i don't have any... i don't like a RPG more than another.
If you don't speak japanese then your choice really shrinks down to a few titles.

If you speak japanese, then, yup, Disgaea or Suikoden I + II are other alternatives...

The garghav trilogy, despite becoming better and better, is not up to the verry high standards of the best of the best PSX titles, and if you have a machine old enough to host the hacked 3.02 firmware, then your favourite RPG will be whatever was your favourite PSX RPG
