Notice how Noise Factory was too stupid to even put blocking in the game (which was even in Sengoku 2, which came out 8 years ago)? Much less even more interesting features like dodging or rolling (Saurus even put rolling in Shock Troopers, which came out 2 years ago)?

Well, next time you're playing Sengoku 2001 and you're getting smacked around (especially by Okuni's/Byakki's combos while they're boss characters), try this: down, up + ABCD.

(Hint: you can do this at any time, without any meter; even as you're being hit. Also, yes, this is combo-able.)

Are you talking about the move where they disappear, and then reappear (hitting the enemies in the process)?

If so, that's not a hidden move. I'm pretty sure they clearly show this during the in-game instructions.

Plus, IIRC, all you have to do is hit ABC (no joystick motions required), although this does take off a little bit of your life energy each time you use it.

Yeah, after getting the MVS yesterday, I can tell you that in the game instructions before you select your character, it shows how to do that move. This log appears and you come down out of the sky and blow up everything in the immediate area. Problem with this is...it takes life energy to pull off...making it more like a desperation move.

As far as blocking goes, I have blocked stuff with my weapons before...have no CLUE how I did it. I don't seem to remember it taking off any energy, either.

you cant really "block" or "repel" or "parry"

BUT

if you and the enemy strike a blow at the same time with the sword....

but sengoku 2 is better for that

You're completely right, and I'm completely wrong. The instructions do show the ABC attack, but I was never able to pull it off because I kept trying to use it while falling away (you can't do anything then).

It is in fact just ABC.

Is it the blocking with a clash between you and the enemy and a stun occuring or you really block and recover fast enough to counter ?? I'd really like to be able to do that if possible !!!
