I trust this is not news to anyone else who is a member to CheapassGamer.com, so this is for the benefit to those who aren't --- major markdown on 26 December 2006 at Toys R Us, lots of GBA, DS, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox360, Gamecube games marked down to as low as $9.99, which is the vast majority of them. 'Cos this be the handheld systems section, I be posting only the list relevant to handheld, all others follow the link to CheapassGamer.com:

Searched that thread, no match for canada or canadian, so I guess try going on the 26th and cross your fingers.

I saw that thread on CAG a few days ago, doh, just bought Advance Wars DS from broken. Then again, I haven't seen that game in any shops in a while, so it's ok. Will pick up Trace Memory, Viewtiful Joe RHR, Metal Gear Acid 2, and maybe Capcom Classics Remix.

Don't know if the sale is available to Canadians mate, but yeah, definitely go check it out, maybe the deal is all of North America. I don't want to be left feeling like a chump when I get there on Tuesday, so I've already bought Odama, Atelier Iris 2, and The Tower SP, I would have picked up some others --- Zelda Minish Cap, Metroid Prime Pinball, etc. --- but they didn't have it :( The plan is to go back after 3 days and do the price adjustment at Customer Service.

Will these prices be reflected on their website? No B&M TRU within a few hundred miles of where I am.

I would say maybe, there's a good chance, if past sales are any indication. Cream of the crop stuffs though, you may want to find a member who can pick them up for you.

Called all my local Toys R' Us stores around here, to see if they have any copies of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow in stock. Unfortunately, none of them don't.

If someone could pick-up an extra copy for $9.98 in their area, please PM me as I would like to buy one.

I should have double checked if they have any Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth in stock too.

I'll head back to Toys 'R' Us on Tuesday to make the price adjustments. If I see Castlevania and Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, I'll try to pick 'em up for you.

Will we know what the price of everything is without having to print out an Internet list? (Will they be marked/put in a separate area from regularly priced games?)

That would be so awesome of you, if you could find an extra copy of Castlevania: DoS and VP: Lenneth for me. Good looking out bro!

My Toys R Us doesn't have any copies of Castlevania: DoS, but if anyone could pick me up the game without marking it up, I would be eternally grateful (or I could check my toys r us for any games that you want that the one near you doesn't have). Drop me a PM if you can/are interested.

I would say it depends. Some Toys 'R' Us stores are very diligent about setting it out for clearance, others, not so much, so the beauty of the thing is, if you know about this clearance list in advance, as we do, chances are very good that there will actually be games left on the shelves for you to pick up, unlike Best Buy or Circuit City.

I'll print out a list just in case. Did I read somewhere that Steambot Chronicles is $9.98?

I'll go there tomorrow and keep a look out for Castlevania and other stuff for you guys.

How do you tards know if they have it in stock? Surely it wasn't open today, and their bloated ass slow loading site doesn't have inventory #s.

just got back from Toys R' Us' After X'mas sale

Went first thing this morning, hoping i would grab: Valkyrie Profile, Capcom Classics Remix and the Gradius Collection. Wasn't the case when i got there. All the titles i mentioned were out of stock.

Only came out with Gunstar Super Heroes for the GBA. Oh well, hopefully someone snagged an extra copy of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Bokmeow, how'd the treasure(game) hunting go?

The last Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth was all sold out at the closer Toys 'R' Us, so I went to the one close to Woodbridge center just to see what titles they had there. Asked the clerk about some games and she said, 'someone came in and bought a load of [name of game here].' :emb: Yup, some opportunist came in to buy up the games and probably will sell the games at eBay or some flea market now --- that's where a lot of the Circuit City games ended up at, I saw 'em when I went to the Columbus Farmer Market... even had the price tags that said 'Circuit City' still on 'em. So to make a long story short, yes, I was able to pick up Valkyrie Profile, along with:

.Hack//GU (1 copy only)
Metroid Prime Pinball
Rub Rabbits
Feel the Magic
Tower SP
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
Odama
Drill Dozer
Trace Memory
Warioware Twisted
Valkyrie Profile Lenneth
Ys Ark of Naphistim PSP

And then I price adjusted the Tower SP, Atelier Iris 2, and Odama I picked up the other day. The clerk was shocked at the difference.

There were a few Drill Dozer, Gunstar Super Heroes, lots of Trace Memory left, along with many other games that I didn't care much about. If there's a game someone wants, mention it and I'll try to pick 'em up if I get a large enough list going.

Quite a bit of traveling you did there dude. Awesome job on finding a lot of stuff. Is it possible to buy one of those Castlevania: DoS copies from you? VP: Lenneth would be nice too.

Ya, BioMotor_Unitron had dibs on 1, and it looks like you're the next in line, so that would make all the Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow I picked up. I would have gotten more, but someone else beat me to the punch, that'll teach me to fill up on a tank of gas before I get to Toys 'R' Us :emb: oh well, other people need to get their portable gaming fill too.

PM me your zip code and your payment method dude so that I may calculate the total cost of sending the package to California --- that's where you're going to school at the moment, right?

I was reluctant to pick up Point Blank, 'cos I was really turned off by the ugly ass cover art. It's from Taito though, is it a decent game? What do the reviews say?

Forgot I picked up Ys Ark of Naphistim PSP as well. I have no idea if anyone wants the game. I picked up a lot just to make the gas worth it, 'cos like, the Toys 'R' Us close to me is a pain to get to, shittiest entrance evar, where the confluence of traffic flow just makes it an accident waiting to happen, and gas prices going up 'n all.

UPDATE: Seems like some people have not had much luck in locating certain games he wanted to pick up. Listed below are the games that I was able to pick up (in bold), or games that were available (in italics), so if you want me to do the legwork, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. The catch of course is, the games listed in italic may not be there tomorrow. As is the nature of charity work, I will try to keep the shipping estimate as low as possible, I don't need any extra money for my effort unless it is offered to me, the only thing I expect the buyer to pay for is the price of the game after NJ sales tax, the shipping cost, the delivery confirmation, and PayPal fee (only applies if you pay through PayPal).

All I saw was Capcom Classic Remix, Metal Gear Ac!d 2, Con, Metroid Pinball, Drill Dozer. I noticed another guy got Gradius collection and Gunstar and some other stuff. I didn't pick up anything because I wasn't interested in any of those and didn't think anybody else would be either.

I went to Kmart today and saw Gunstar Super Heroes for $10. I know Costco has it for $13 too.
