PSP 3.03 OE-C Custom firmware

What’s changed in OE-C (including Popstation changes):

* AVC videos bitrate limit patched. The firmware limited the bitrate of avc videos to only 768 Kbps. OE now forces the limit to be 16384 Kbps. (Note: this doesn’t mean than the psp can handle such a high bitrate; this means than they won’t show error. I don’t know which is the real maximum bitrate than the psp can handle at full speed).
* Speed of OE boot is now ~3 seconds faster than previous versions. (without plugins).
* Cpu speed of XMB can now be changed.
* Wifi can now work at 333 Mhz.
* Added access to flashes 0 and 1 via usb in the recovery menu, based on the great idea of USBSSS by Booster. Note that writing is enabled, so this is intended only for advanced users that know what they are doing in each moment. (It is not a great idea to change anything from the kd folder). Because of this addition, the rest of flashing options were removed.
* PSP isos can now be deleted as any normal memstick games. (also the size of the iso now shows fine when you press triangle->information).
* When formatting memory stick, GAME150, GAME303 and ISO directories will be automatically created.

Its also been noted that these new Popstation EBOOTs will not work with prior 3.03 OE versions.

This is the update to 3.03 OE-B

Execute this only from 3.03 OE-A or 3.03 OE-A'

changes in OE:

- Patched the firmware to allow decrypted mp4-AVC videos to play at 480x272 resolution.
- pic0.png was not shown in psp isos. Fixed.
- The speed functions were not dummied after setting the speed. This could cause the few games
that set the cpu speed not to run at the selected speed in the recovery menu.
- Changed the structure of the program to have more free ram in game mode.
sysmemp.prx removed, systemctrl.prx splitted into systemctrl.prx and vshctrl.prx.

Note: due to the inclusion of pic0.png, the iso cache has changed slightly; as a consequence you
will notice a slowdown the first time you access game menu after this update, just as if you have
modified the iso folder.

Update:

http://www.psp-hacks.com/2007/01/04/303-open-edition-revision-a-released/

Changes from 3.02 OE-B to 3.03 OE-A:

* Change from firmware 3.02 to 3.03
* Added support for compression in psx isos (look at popstation documentation for more details).
* Added support for decrypted document.dat (psx games manual) (look at docmaker documentation for more details).
* Fixed a bug regarding free region: a stupid bug caused it not to work at all. Now it should work, although it has not been tested due to lack of umd’s of different regions between the testers and me.
* Some generic bug fixes in the code.
* Re-added the sdk.
* Fixed some bugs that could cause the brick of korean/chinese/taiwan/singapure psp when restoring default settings. To prevent this, the region of those psp’s are faked to japanese when fake region is disabled. For same reason, korean region is removed from fake region.
* Added australia/new zeland and russia to the regions to be faked.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Update:
OE-B version is out. You just need to upgrade from OE-A.

havent test this personally though. Going to zzzzz.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to psp-hacks. :buttrock:

3.02 OE is a custom firmware created for 1.50 PSPs.
It is the successor the popular SE firmware.

Unchanged since 2.71SE-C:

* Can run homebrews using 1.50 kernel (same compatibility as 2.71 SE-C)
* Recovery menu
* Built-in iso/cso support (appears in the vsh under the GAME menu)

Changed since 2.71SE-C:

* Runs 3.02 vsh
* Can run homebrews using 3.02 kernel

Removed since 2.71SE-C:

* Location Free player
* Korean fonts

Added since 2.71SE-C:

* UMD-VIDEO Region free
* PSP kernel Region selector
* O/X button selector
* WMA enabeling option
* Flash player Enableing option
* Pops (SCE psone emulator) drm protection hacked (that means that you can now your games in more than one psp and share those over the internet)

Basically, this shit dummy upgrade ur PSP to 3.02. No need dual boot anymore, you shut off ur PSP & coming back to 3.02. This is your alternative to Devhook & much better. If it fukked up or u dun like, you can go recovery console (press R before switch on) & return to 1.50 stock. MAY BRICK YOUR PSP IF NOT CAREFUL!! Once u brick, u cannot get back to Recovery Console. If u r chicken, dont do this then. :lol:

Run NJ emu on 3.02 & other shit load of homebrews, which it cant be done on Devhook. Run ISO/CSO as usual, up to 3.02 version. I havent test Devhook on this yet. Run fukkin PS1 games too. No need those fukkin must-buy-PS3-to-download-just-4-PS1-games. Oh heads to torrent if u want it, just dun look at me where to get em. :tickled:

I tested already but not ChaosZero's installer. I did it manually, much safer. :cool:

And u wonder how fast PS1 game on PSP? I've made a clip.

No more devhook,UMDemu,Kxploits.

Loads up ISOs and emus straight and on the fly.

I see Arc The Lad....wonder if it'll work.

Anyone got R-Types up in this bitch?

Oh man... This sounds sick! I'm on this. Hope I can figure it out.

EDIT: Did it between now and the time of my original post. I assume I did it right... It says 3.o2 OE-A under firmware. How do you run emulators with this now though? Is it the same as it was with 1.5? Or do you use 1.0 emulators now?

EDIT II: Cool! Just played a bit of Goku Makaimura on an ISO. Pretty awesome.

Easy matey, switch off PSP. Hold R & switch on. Purple screen Recovery Mode will appear.
Go to CONFIG -> GAME FOLDER HOMEBREW (currently: 3.02 kernel), press X, done.

Make sure u dont play with ADVANCE setting.

If u play WMA/Flash, go to REGISTRY HACKS & activate from there.

Njoy.

You can now run 1.0 emus,no need for kxploit any longer.

Too bad Arc the Lad is JP-only atm,as I would like to play it on a slow day at the office.

Cool! So, you don't need the ____% folder anymore then?

Also, not that, you know, I'll ever be able to find a decent place to get PS roms, but how do you do run those?

Nope,no need for the % folder any longer.

You can only run PSX roms that are available through the PS Network (PS3 d/l) atm.

These are some of the 'playable' games I've seen,so far:

Hot Shots Golf 2
Tekken 2
Biohazard: DC
Crash Bandicoot
Syphon Filter
Cool Boarders
Arc the Lad

You can find them at the 'usual' places.

Just copy the folder and drop it into the GAME folder on your memory stick.

I see... Well that's stupid. So it's not like playing an ISO then? That's too bad, as I actually found a Symphony of the Night ISO...

Well, I mean, playing PS1 stuff on your PSP is awesome. It's just stupid that the selection is limited to that right now.

I hope somebody figures that out. That would be awesome.

This is sick. I haven't messed with emulators since mid 2005 five on the psp, it's sounds like it's progressed enough to do so again.. Luckily, I can still downgrade.

I'm in the process of doing this. My PSP will finally do something other than collect dust. It'll play PSOne games and Emulators. It's a shame there is hardly any PSP software worth owning. Oh well, as long as I feel like it gets used I feel a little less cheated.

Do note that there is a 2.80 downgrader. Be EXTRA careful to make sure all the files are in place before using it. If a file is missing and you use the downgrader it will brick your PSP. I was running on 2.50 and did a 2.80 upgrade so that I could downgrade to 1.50, worked like a charm!

There is a downgrader from 2.5/2.6 that is much safer, you know. It's what I used on my 2nd PSP.
