Can a DB9 cable for serial mice be used as a DB9 RGB cable?

Need to hook my D-Lite supergun to an old Atrai RGB 14" momitor....

seperate screened rgb signals like in a vga cable would be better.
But having said that, in a cab the rgb signals from the board set to the monitors rgb input are not screened.
