I was curious how good the shooter cotton is on the NGPC. Is it worth the 45-80 dollars I see it go for?

I own the uk one. Its your standard side scroller cotton game. Probably not worth the price but it is a game that does hold its value.

I own the JPN version, picked it up for $30 about 5 years ago or so. Not bad for $30, but I wouldn't spend much more. It's an alright shmup, especially since there are none on the NGPC, but the repaly value is pretty low.

Yeah, it's a pretty cute shooter, since there's zero shooters aside from this and the mini-games in Ganbare Neo Poke Kun, it'll have to satisfy your shmup itch. It has it share of problems though, like for instance, the alternate bomb for shields doesn't work, it was supposed to be activated by holding down both buttons, but they never seemed to have implemented that, even those it's mentioned in the manual.

I't's funny you ask this, as I have been playing this quite a bit the past few days. I have the UK one and it is somewhat pricey, but I think it is a very good shooter given the capabilities of the system.

If you are a NGPC fan, I say go ahead and try to get it. You can always try the ROM first too, but you won't be able to play it with the NGPC's sweet control stick.

Cotton on the NGPC is not bad. I used to own the UK version because it's harder to find. If you really like the Cotton series, play the JPN Sega Saturn version.

Cool thanks for the info. I will probably hold off on it unless I find it for a reasonable price. I do plan on getting the saturn version since I have heard nothing but good things about the saturn game.

Cotton its actually a good shooter and about the only one for the NGPC, its cute and tells a story through static anime scenes. In terms of price I doubt it sells for 80 and anyone willing to pay that much is dumb. I'm thinking more 45-55 dollars.

I have seen it in the 80 dollar range and thought the price was rediculous since someone in the neo selling section was asking I think 40 bucks for it. Seeing it for 80 made me wonder if anyone thinks it is worth that much and so far the consensus is you should not pay more then 50 for the game.

as with most ebay listings, they cannot be sued as a yardstick for pricing. One dumbass thinks "hey this bare CD of Dracula X will sell for $250!" so they list it as RARE!!!11! and start it at $249. Enter profiteer #2 who does a search to see what he should sell his for...etc, etc. They never sell them for that price, everyone just keeps listing these things and wiping the cheetos dust off on their gym shorts as the cycle continues.

//end rant

I got my UK version for around $50, and a friend just got his for about $40. With patience you can easily get the UK one for under $50, the Japanese one being cheaper.

It's decent as far as handheld shooters go, but if you want to play it in all it's glory, go for the PCB or PC Engine SCD version, which is absolutely stunning.
