Monitor Roll-over...

I don't have any pictures of it right now, but I have two cabinets, both monitors have that roll-over issue, where for instance, the top of the screen appears as if it's rolling back behind itself instead of stretching properly. What can cause this? And does anyone here know how to fix it? Please tell me I can fix this issue by adjusting the vertical hold...

Thanks in advance!

what brand and make are your monitors ?
Symptom you are mentioning is called 'vertical foldover' ...its caused by bad electrolytic capacitors in your monitor's chassis. When did this problem started with your monitors ?

just recently. The monitors are 26" nanao's from my model 2 series (VF2, etc). The only way to fix this is to do a cap kit then? I'd have to get someone to do it as there's no way in hell I'm going to install a cap kit myself.

If you do not want to replace the lot, just replace the 3 or 4 around the vertical output stage, especially any that look bloated or leaky ;)
That will fix your problem

alright, thank you very much for your help! Worst case scenario I'll buy the cap kit for my monitor and then have the local monitor tech install it for me. How hard could it be to solder capacitors, I've soldered tons of things before, I'm just a bit of a worry wart I guess. But without your help I wouldn't have known what was causing my problem, so thanks again! ^_^

I finally got around to looking at the caps in the back... they all appear to be fine. They don't seem to be bulging, or leaking or anything. I don't know how to look for these things, but I had a motherboard once where the caps were leaking so I imagine it would look like that. But none of mine appear to be leaking... could anything else cause this?

It looks like a typical cap problem, start by replacing the ones around the vertical drive/output stage (there are usually 4 or 5 electros around that stage)

Also check that the +B voltage is correct.

Would this be the same way to fix a horizontal foldover problem? I have a converted (IE hacked to hell) cab with a 19" Atari Matsushita display in it that the right side is folded over on. I have tried all the positioning and sizing options to no avail. It also has a problem where the top 1/4" or so is shifted to the left so the display looks as such when sized to fit into the visable area:

Adjusting the horizontal hold/frequency should fix that
