What's the difference between Kernel/regular?

Not quite sure. Kernel one use in 2.xx fw with those who-knows-what-psp-hacks.
Some ppl reported older games doesnt run on kernel mode. So i suggest u try the non-kernel on your 1.5. should be ok.

anyhow, explain what kind of roms work on this emu? how do I set it up? I recently wiped out my 1 gig card so I could use it in my w810. if I can successfully run games like kof 03 and not feel like the PSP controls are shit, I may buy a new card.

What about last blade and MOTW's? Full speed with sound aswell?

Yeah I did googled & found that site. After all these years, there is still rom site like that.
But nope, no SSVSP there. I've found one fully working dump on some Brazillian site which also contains latest working encrypted ROTD, etc. Still d/ling atm.


For installations....

You need latest Mame/Kawaks156 Neo roms. And 1.5 fw PSP.

1. Unzip emu, you will find these Converter, 1.0 & 1.5 folders.

2. In 1.5 folder, you will see mvspsp & %mvspsp. Rename them to __SCE__MVSPSP & %__SCE__MVSPSP respectively. If not, otherwise you'll fuck up the naming convention & see corrupt icon.

3. Copy those to folder into your PSP (ms0:/PSP/GAME)

4. In __SCE__MVSPSP folder, if you dont see these, create CACHE & ROMS folder. Or just play the emu first so it will be done auto.

5. Go to Converter folder. Say, open your mslug3.zip (original rom) with "romcnv_mvs.exe". Later it will create a 'cache_mslug3' folder with decrypted rom content.

6. Copy paste this cache_mslug3 folder to the CACHE folder in your PSP.

7. Get your original mslug3.zip rom. Open the zip content, delete everything, leave 256-m1.bin only (for space saving purposes). Back up your original of course.

8. Copy this new tiny mslug3.zip into ROM folder in your PSP. And dont forget neogeo.zip (bios).

9. In PSP, go to GAME & MS & play.

And you're rite. PSP control indeed shit. Cant even fuckin do hcfhcb without worrying it would break.
Tho there is an appz that allows you to use PC joypad or keyboard to control your PSP.

Didnt try em yet. But reported by others full speed & very smooth. I wonder abt SVC tho.
With this emu, 99% should work full speed with sound.

Oh yeah I forgot, CPS1 & 2 also full speed. ver 1.30.

This is insane! I can confirm that Garou: Mark of the Wolves runs at full speed with sound.

Wondering about what the catch must be? You have to make all new cache files. And the cache file for Garou is 90 MB!!!!!

Yeah that is why I bought 2 2 gigs. 1 for emulation loaded to the tits with games. And one for isos.

Garou and KOF 02 work like charm, with just the cache folders and very tiny roms containing the m1 files. However I'v tried this with other games and they don't work. How do I know which files(s) leave in each rom zip?

I can try it later on or u can experiment it urself.

Yeah, I've been experimenting myself, just put some roms and see at what rom listing it gave the error. I made my games work with few rom files so I can save room. Thanks

Gotta bookmark this thread. I only have the shitty stick they give you with the PSP and I hopefully will get a 2Gig stick from my brother for Christmas so I can fill it up with more then ONE game. It'll be great to have Twinkle Star, Samurai Shodown Special and Last Blade all in my pocket.

My only comlaint is the PSP itslef.I hate the control pad,so hard to do movies

I know you can't downgrade it yet but I heard an eloader or something lets you use homebrew.

If you mean IRshell, you need to have the joypad connected to the PC, so it isn't that useful, I'd rather play a PC emu.
