Is there a write up somewhere telling how to mod a Saturn controller to be used with neo geo!?

I still don't have any thing to use with my new supergun, and there's 7 saturn controllers at the gamecrazy by my house. Ii'd like to mod about 4 of them. I just don't know how exacly.

someone help please!! ! !

There's nothing to it. Open up the Saturn pad, remove the chip, and solder wires to the buttons. For example, A wire to A button, B wire to B button.

Simple, no?

No, werejag, 'cause anyone with eyes can follow the circuits. If you can'f follow the line from button A to the point it connects to the chip, you're too stupid to live. =D

Note: the line that connects to ALL switches is GROUND. Also known as COMMON, because it's common to all switches.

Nice work, MKL, but I have to wonder how your mod is different from mine.

It's basically the same but on mine the cable is secured to the PCB and has the strain relief grommet from the old cable.

Those are good looking controllers. I do have a couple questions though.

1) How do you get the grommet off the old cable without tearing it to shreds... and then install it on the new cable ?

2) Where do you get your db-15 cables with the longer connectors ?

Thanks in advance for any help !

I have used PC extension cables with great success. Cut off the male end and you're good to go.

In Japan I could buy Neo-compatible cables, but I'm reasonably sure they were just PC extensions with the ends cut off (and the price marked up 300%).
