Sell off games, then buy them back again?

Have any of in the past sold off any number of your Neo games only to buy them back again some time later? I have. And I regret it deeply. It was a stupid move on my part.

SS1 (I bought new, sold it off, then ended up buying a crappy quality version years later)
Sengoku 1 (same as above)
Crossed Swords (same as above but i didn't originally buy it new)

So from now on, any AES game that I sell off, I'm DAMN sure I don't want it again.
Which brings me to another question of curiousity I have of you all-

How many of you will buy/trade games to only own your favorite titles?

How many of you will buy everything, and never sell a game off, even if it qualifies as the "worst neo game ever"?

Despite my first point above, i'm leaning more towards the effect of the first question asked. I feel that there's no sense in me keeping games I'll never play again. And in this day and age, I feel that Neo games are worth more than ever(which is arguable I think) and trading AES games in when applicable is good money sense.
That's my feeling about it all anyway.

i am on my 3rd collection

its an expensive hobby, so when you need money fast there is no better way to get quick bucks than to sell 1 of the more expensive games

hoepfully this time i wont have to sell everything but you never know whats gonna happen tomorrow

I think it's a better idea to hold on to your collection.

You might sell then for a low price, then realize you miss the games 3 months later, and fork out more money to buy some fifth hand junk......

I'm with you guys. I hoard everything and I never sell it off even if it isnt valuable and i hate the game, cuz i never know when i might be able to get it again. its hard for me to get neo games sometimes. Im on my 1st collection and I dont plan to sell anything off.

Metal Slug X, Top Hunter, Viewpoint, and Last Resort.

I bought all of those long ago. Sold them long ago. Bought them back, and then sold all but Last Resort. Will get Viewpoint and maybe MSX again.

From 1990 to present.
I still go by the philosophy laid in place long ago and that was:
If you don't care for the game or play it much at all,it's not doing anybody good sitting around collecting dust in your bookcase.

I think I stick around in this hobby because of it.It's weird but I find it a pleasant experience to rediscover titles that I had written off as crap years ago.It demonstates how narrow minded a person can be...

You sold everything but Last Resort? Ahh I feel the camaraderie already. I love that shooter. Reminds me of Terminator 2, as LE was released the following year.

Evil Wasabi, what is your fav level? I'm torn between Level 1 and Level 3.

Level 3 is where you have to fight the giant Robot boss? My favorite level is probably 4, when you take on the space colony. There are like, maybe 2 save points.

I feel that each level has a certain weapon that you should use.

Level 1 is the laser
Level 2 is the double bombs
and level 3 is the homing missiles.

Basically, for the level and the boss, these are the best choices to go with.

In level 2, it's simple to see that the double bombs are your best friend because of all the shit attached to the floors and ceiling. There are a few gauntlets that the double bomb would be your best friend for.

In level 3 I'd use the homing missile just because there's so much shit on the screen at once. It's not so helpful in the beginning when you need to take down the sub, but when you are up against the 2 leg of the level, and all the hoppers are flying at you, and then you take on the trash compactor with the double lasers... Those missiles will hit the target even when you're not near it nor in front of it.

In Level 4, I think that the double bombs would be the best choice. There's so many times when the only weapon you can use is your Io, because enemies are not in front of you. So the laser is pretty ineffective. At least if you have hte double bombs you can take out the shit above you like when you enter the ship, or are flying backwards after passing the underbelly of the hull. There's a level like this in Blazing star, but I think Last Resort offers a better atmosphere for it. My favorite part is how crucial it is not to die. You can play for 10 mintues and die and have to start from the beginning of the level...

As for the last level, I don't know. It's a little easy, and it doesn't matter what weapons you use. Anything will help you.

Generally the only time I'll sell a game is if:
1) I buy an upgraded version of the same game (Ex: Silent Hill 2 vs Silent Hill 2: Restless dreams)
2) the game sucks so bad I can't stand to have it in my collection.

As far as Neo games go I can pretty much guarantee I'll never sell any of them, as unlike a lot of today's games I'll eventually go back to playing all of them at some point.

I'm with them. I'm currently on my 3rd Neo CD and working on my 4th NGH deck.

Ask Mario and Mokum... they've bought and sold their collections more times than I care to remember!!!

As for me... well I've sold off one or two titles that i want back because I wasn't happy with their overall condition.

i think the only homecart I've sold on that i will probably never buy again is Burning Fight. I bought it new, played it once (through from start to finish in first sitting) and never played it again, and subsequently sold it.
