I couldn't find a DPST Power Switch, so I purchased a DPDT Power Switch instead. It's for a Consolized MVS (1 slot).

The DPDT swithces have six connections instead of four. Can someone tell me how to wire it, or perhaps have a diagram? It's a Radio Shack switch, so of course there is no instructions or diagram on the package.

Thanks

They ussualy work like this

1 2

C D

Possition 1 (Usually with the switch towards the bottom):
A Connects to 1
B Connects to 2.

Possition 2 (Usually with the switch towards the top):
C Connects to 1
D Connects to 2

So, to wire a powerswitch.........

1. Cut off or cover the C+D pins.
2. Wire the +5 from the PSU to Pin 1
3. Wire the +12 from the PSU to pin 2
4. Wire the +5 from Pin A to the Jamma Harness
5. Wire the +12 from pin B to the Hamma Harness

Notes:
1. You can always use continutity test on a Multimeter to see how a swtich works.
2. Always test the voltages at the jamma Harness before powering up a PCB for the first time.

Thanks Norton,

I think this is the first time I've recieved a tech explanation in english, and without a flame.
Also, I will take note of your side note.

The side note is the Most important part.

If you do those two things.... Just about anybody can come up with a way to wire it up....

I used to have a picture of a DPDT switch marked up in MS paint... It had the whole diagram... But I've lost it from my photobucket account.
