These are slightly larger than the ones you see on the 4 slot. It is the panel on the front of the cab under the control panel. It shows you where to put the memory card and headphones.

I'm restoring a 2 slot cab. The original one on there is yellowed and starting to peel. The metal back is still in excellent condition. I thought a cheap fix would be to recreate one in AutoCAD or Illustrator and print it out on an adhesive photo quality paper then maybe spray it with some clear acrylic paint or cover it with a transparent adhesive vinyl sheet.

Anyone have one of the labels drawn up in AutoCAD or Illustrator or something that I can use to print it out?

If not, I'll start working on it.

I won't be back on until Monday, so don't get upset if I don't reply right away.

Thanks.

I suppose that it could be scanned and touched up with a photo editor.

It has a lexan type coating over it. Would that mess up the scan?

yes,It does seem to have a lexan type coating over it though..
The marks in that picture I don't see when I look at the cab from the front.(though I cleaned it).I think it's the flash that brings them up,thus a scanner may do the same..

This overlay won't fit in my scanner either..it's too long...
It either has to be done half to half or taken somewhere that has a big scanner..

I went looking to see how hard it would be to get out..Whew!!..It would be a job,
I can't promise anything but when I go working on the cab again someday I'll see what I can do..

I just removed this a couple weeks back:
There should be four or five nuts to take off. A 3/8" wrench will work, but it they are slightly smaller than 3/8" (metric). The top two and the middle one on the bottom are easy, the two at the bottom corners are tough because there is a chunk of wood kind of covering the nut. If you loosen the nut with the wrench, you need to loosen it enough to get the square part of the bolt head out of the panel on the front side of the cab. Then, you can just rotate the bolt freely while keeping the nut in place. Reverse procedure to get them back in.

I thought it would be tough, but it only took a few minutes to remove the panel. Removing the control panel allowed me to get my entire fat head inside to see what I was wrenching on.

I took mine to a local sign shop and she wanted around $110 to redo the decal and covering. That includes a $75 setup fee. I don't have the money to order say 15 of them from her and sell them here or I would. I figured I'd just live with it for now. Since I have redone the vinyl all around it doesn't look as bad now. :)
