Does anyone know of a US distributor for a 30mm knockout/hole punch. Most of the places I have found are UK distributors and either they dont ship to the US or it is just too much for how much the actual piece is. Or if anyone has one they want to sell...?

Thanks fellas

Is this for buttons?
If so theres a standard size thats 95% compatible(the buttons wont fall out or move but it not perfect its a tad bigger.)
Anyways if so you can get these sets at most any department stores and any hardware store.

hey thanks alot. What are those called? I will be using these for putting some sanwa buttons (30mm) in my CP. I have called a ton of places and searched extensively on the internet but the odd size is making it near impossible to find. Nice pic BTW, havent listened those guys in years! Good stuff

Thanks for the help

1 1/8?
If im thinking of the same button... the sanwa buttons are the same size as standard buttons but the micro switch is configured different so they take up less depth space.

oh theres two different types
ones a paddle paddle type drill bit or
a hole saw drill bit

I prefer paddle its faster and you dont have to dig the wood out after your done

cool thanks man. Unfortunately I am not sure if the drill bits will work as I am putting these into a metal CP and have been cautioned against using the drilling sort. The type I am looking for is a manual hand cranked (either via a ratchet or allen wrench) and consists of 2 pices clamped on either side of the CP itself. The wrenching draws the die into the metal and eventually shears through the metal leaving a clean, burr free hole.

I may though have to end up going this route though since these things seem really hard to find stateside. Thanks again man.

Greenlee (www.greenlee.com) makes a ton of different panel punches. Look on ebay or www.mouser.com

One thing you may consider is a step-bit (aka UniBit). I'm not sure if they go up that large, but they may...

thanks for all the help guys.

Mouser had the exact one I needed and I just ordered it fed ex overnight so it will be here by tuesday. Shipping cost more then the tool but it would have all been the same if i ended up ordering it from the UK, so at least now I will have it when the cabinet comes! I had already gotten the day off from work to meet the delivery guy and have some time to get everything set up and the hole punch was the only thing that would have upset those plans. Back on track. I will post some pics of the results.

Thanks JMKurtz and everyone else, always appreciated!

I really don't like using those chisels on plastic. Or really wood for that matter.

There is a type of Chisel that isn't flat..... It's has a Screw in the front and curved chizels on the sides.

Like a combination between a Holseaw, Unibit and Flat Chizel.
