Whats up everyone,

I had a great idea for a Tech section sticky. We should have a molex/connector list of part numbers and suppliers. I would like to have information such as where to obtain things like the MVS stereo connector, CPS2 kick harness housings, Naomi power connectors, stuff like that.

I'll start off the database by referencing MKL's info on the Naomi Power Adapter parts. Please use mine as an example when posting new parts in the list. Please try to provide a picture of the connector, a datasheet from the supplier, link to the supplier's website and part numbers. Cost would be nice too, but not necessary.

Supplier Website:

Part Numbers:
476-6580 (6-pin housing, 10 pcs)
476-6603 (8-pin housing, 10 pcs)
512-9235 (crimp terminals, 100 pcs)

Please add to this! I have all of the CPS2 kick harness info saved, I just need to pull it up. I'd love to see stuff like Sega candy cabinet molex part numbers, extra button connectors for various PCB's, and others.

Peace!
Bill

The majority of wire-to-board connectors found on Japanese arcade hardware from the 80's through to the present day (e.g. on Lindbergh) belongs to the NH series from JST:

http://www.jst-mfg.com/ProductGuideE/ENH.html

A few examples:

2-pin straight: CPS1 fan (q-sound games only), CPS2 fan
2-pin side entry: CPS2 B-board coin counter
3-pin straight: CPS1 stereo, Naomi fan
3-pin side entry: Sanwa Flash stick power connector
4-pin straight: Taito F3, STV stereo
4-pin side entry: MVS stereo, headphones
5-pin side entry: Sanwa/Seimitsu joystick connector
6-pin side entry: Naomi GD-ROM drive power connector
6-pin straight: Naomi SEGA I/O power connector
8-pin side entry: MVS EL panel harness, MV-1B/MV-1C trackball interface connector
10-pin straight: CPS1 kick harness
11-pin straight: STV kick harness
13-pin side entry: MVS credit display harness, rotary games connector (Ikari Warriors, Heavy Barrell, etc.)
14-pin straight: Naomi Sega I/O additional input connector
15-pin straight: Konami/Taito F3 3-4Player connectors

The problem is that despite the fact that JST is present in most western countries, locating a source that can supply small quantities is difficult. To give you an example, Digikey only stocks the 3-pin connector, Mouser and Jameco stock nothing JST. After a lot of search I recently managed to find a source in Italy for all these connectors but that only works for me I guess. Of course if you or others need something I can get it for you when I place an order for myself.

We should do the same for CMVS PSUs.

Or you should figure out how to run everything with 5v...

Is this topic still alive? I think it would be a great resource to all if this gets developed. I'd love to help but I'm afraid I'm pretty new to the Neo Geo scene and don't know much, especially when compared to most users around here.
