I know this is probably a stupid question but ...

Hey all :)

I have just got back into a bit of Neo gaming again recently . I have just bought a 4 slot motherboard and a few nice games to go with it ( Garou and Kizuna Encounter , all in the post still :eek_2: ) . I am using a supergun as opposed to a cab ( Sigma Raijin ) . I hear the 4 slot boards require more power than the 1 slot boards , is this true ? Thought this would be the best place to ask

Thanks .

4 SLOT BOARDS

I think Power Consumption (Volts) is the same, but Current Drain may be more so your PSU has to be able to cope with it or over a period of time it could have an adverse affect on the Motherboard.
Someone who deals with 4 Slots a lot should be able to confirm.

well, statin that they are a bigger board, they do draw more current, you are correct, but the initial voltages can be the same. If you have a power supply that is +5v, +12v, and a ground, chances are you should be perfectly fine, but then again, some power supplys aren't the greatest.... If you need a power supply that takes adjustpent, you may want to consider a power supply for a neo-cab, because you can controll the current flow with a screwdriver, but if you are trying to consolise your board, then you way want an external power supply, because internals jsut look ugly. Just hook it up, and double, and tripple check that you have the wires right, even check them with a multimeter. I got a power supply, and when I first hooked it up, I just went with what it said, but the way it says its supposed to be is evidently incorrect. Plug in your powersupply, then check with the multimeter, and go from there, "DONT SOLDER WITH IT PLUGGED IN!" jsut do a simple check, or you will fry your board/carts if you are lucky... I fried my garou mark of the wolves:angry: thats shitty, dont do that! Well, hapy neo-geo-ing.. I guess
