Hi,

Trying to help out a friend who has an older Electrohome monitor in an unknown cabinet. The cabinet has been modified to be a SF2 cabinet.

When he powers on the cabinet, the game is working fine. You can hear all sounds and the controls work through sound feedback. The monitor shows an appoximately 1" white bar across the screen that doesn't seem to change based on what's happening in the game, or what I do with the controls (other than brightness levels). I am wondering where I should start with this one. I have done cap replacements before, and I know there is also a coil or something like that that might need to be replaced.

This is a project cabinet. I know it's in bad shape and we are going to be doing a lot of work on it. Any help you can give us is greatly appreciated.

Easiest thing to do is replace the chassis. Could be youre vertical hold? Some guy on Ebay has pretty much every chassis you could need about 100.00

Help with identification

Let me start this then- is there anyone who can help identify the cabinet or the monitor? There isn't much information on stickers and labels on the monitor. I know it uses an RCA tube and there was an electrohome sticker on the monitor, but no G- number. I am pretty sure it's not a G07 based upon comparison of the picture here and the ones on ebay / mike's arcade.

If it were mine, I'd take the chassis out, write down the value on all the caps and go pick 'em up from my local electronics store.

Between that & fixing the cracked solder joints you'll fix 9 out of 10 monitors...
