Somebody tell me if Rocket Slime is as sickeningly cute as advertised

It is very good. I would not call it a masterpiece but it is one of the better DS games out there. It is very cute but very addicting to play. It looks really good and plays equally well, I don't think you can go wrong by picking this up.

The reviews call it simple, but a decent game. Sounds like the sort of play and forget game that a person who likes the series or RPGs in general would enjoy.

Is it the DS/Dragon Warrior version of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest?

No. You control a blue slime and you are trying to find all of the creatures (from your town) that were taken when the town was attacked. The blue slime you control attacks by stretching his body (you can angle him in any direction) and then you shoot him. The cool thing is when you strike a bad guy or a treasure chest ect. you can position your self under it and carry it on your head. I think you can carry up to five items. You can also throw the items you have stacked on your head, or send them back to the town to become part of your inventory.

It is a very colorful game and it plays very well. It does look kiddie but there is a lot of quality to it. For USA DS games it is easily one of the better games out there.

I'd pick it up if I had more time to play games. I finally got to put some time in on Okami yesterday after about 4 days of not being able to play it. I have to pick my game priorities more carefully these days.

Bump, 'cuz I got RS last week and I've had some time to play it now. Fun little game, real fun. Very entertaining mood, lots of cute Squeenix references, but it actually plays well, too.

So far my favorite thing to do is get as many enemies on screen at once as possible, then just make Rocket madly launch himself randomly until everything is dead.

I guess I'm easy to please. Give me general chaos and I'm happy.

edit: and I'm not sure how long it is, I think it's supposed to be 10-20 hours.

This is a pretty kick-ass game.

It's stupidly simple, but very fun and entertaining.

I personally love the overall cuteness of it.

It fits the DQ universe well and gives the game a unique little charm about it.

My only complaint is that it's a bit on the easy side, but other than that?

It's all good.

(I am so sorry for that.)
