Just how hard is it to find an Atomiswave SD Cab? On top of that, how hard is it to find one with 2 player compatibility? (Motherboard included)

Get in touch with Matsu. He's got AW SD's. There are some pics of them here:

Use the search feature on neo-geo.com to find his email address. I reciently got two cabinets from him and it was a very smooth transaction.

Thats Matsu's e-mail address and he is good to deal with. The atomiswave 2player cp is actually an egret 3 if I'm not mistaken. And the 2 person adapter for the mobo is fairly expensive too I think.

But Matsu's your man for it.

2 person adapter for the mobo? AW is JAMMA.

Its the AW cabinet link cables that are expensive. With a 2 player control panel, it will work just fine, no modification. If you want to run the AW on 2 cabs (1 player per cab), you need the linking cables which aren't cheap.

I didn't realise you could even link 2 AW mobo's together. What game makes use of this feature? Isuka is 4-up via one mobo, just with the i/o cart supporting 3-up and 4-up.

I didnt' say motherboard link cables, I said cabinet link cables. It basicly splits the jamma into two machines and the appropriate controls. If I'm not mistaken, it has the compatible molex connectors on the ends of the wire loom so you can litterly plug and play with an AW SD cab. I'm not sure if there is a marquee that illeuminates "winner" on the winner's cab, but I know sega VS cities (same concept) do that.

Right, fair enough, but there are no such thing as AW cabinet link cables. They are generic cables for any VS cab. This is why I was confused before.

I could have sworn that there are official AW link cables, ones that have the proper AW SD molex adapters. I could be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain on this.

You could of course use regular VS cab cables with some modification and rewiring for the same result.

Thanks guys! I didn't even know link cables existed for these things, but I was only looking to purchase a single cab with 2 joypads (which seems to be the egret III). Now if only I had the money :(

Heh yeah the AW SD cabs are a pretty large investment. If you want something affordable and stylish (and happens to have one of the best monitors), check out the New Astro City by Sega. I have 2 of those cabs and they're amazing. On average they run about $500 before shipping.
