I just started playing it today and there's not a control scheme that can even come close to being considered adequate, much less comfortable.

I don't get why anyone raves or even compliments this game so far. I really hated the Prime Series, but decided to try it anyways... it's not really changing my perceptions much.

I didn't care for it

Death Matches were not fun and the control scheme isn't THAT good

I didn't care for the controls either. I will say that some people have no problems with them though. I went on line a couple of times with MPH and there are some people that can deal out head shot after head shot.

MPH was not a game that I was going to get the hang of, so I got rid of it.

The only reason I don't play FPS is that the controls for it is inadequate. Prime Hunters isn't bad, but still not what I would like in an FPS. I think the ideal control scheme is what the Wii will offer, or better yet, A nunchuck attachment on a light gun.

Yep, this is one of two games that was absolutely ruined by the control (the other one being Mario basketball). Bought, played it a few hours, put it down. My hand was throbing. The touch pen is great for some games, but just doesn't work for others.

Bought it the day it came out, didn't like the controls on any setting, traded it back in for Tetris. I don't regret my decision. My hand was cramping up trying to hod the ds with one hand.

Those of you who don't dig Metroid Hunter's controls must not have liked Goldeneye either, same damn controls.

Not exactly. If MPH was on a console I might have liked it.

Also...I have to believe that the experts playing this on Wi-Fi are using the stylus control set up. (Which I didn't care for and couldn't get the hang of) They are just too acurate to be using the button option.

I like Metroid Prime Hunters. The only complaint I have about the game is probably the weapon selection process, I wish it could be performed just by pushing shoulder buttons. That was what was best about keyboard FPS, one could just repeatedly hit a button to rotate through weapon inventory. I'm not in love with the Shock Coil weapon either, that looks like the hand down unbalanced weapon. Imperialist just blows.

Indeed. The thumb strap is critical to this game, the control scheme with it one of the best ever devised imo.

Tho i strap it to my thumb.

I can tell the control is shit in the demo. No way in hell I would ever play this game, glad I am not the only one.

The weapon selection should be Mic activated.

Plasma Gun!

Freeze Ray!

etc.

I played the demo for like 3 minutes and then gave up on it. There was no way I'd ever get used to the control.

Although I'm not much of an FPS guy in general anyway.

i found the controls to be a little better once I got a DSLite...since...its....lighter. But beyond the control scheme I thought the touch pad just wasn't accurate enough to keep up with the game.

funny, to me, the demo seems much more tight in controls than the actual game was when I bought it. Maybe that was because the demo level was easy though. :)

I have to agree...it was completely uncomfortable. I never finished the game because I couldn't stand how I had to hold the damn thing.

The game works beyond perfect --- using the (seemingly forgotten) thumbstrap.
