I've just started to get into collecting for this wonderful system. At first I wasn't impressed with the lineup, but now, after collecting more and more titles I'm realising the quality is certainly there.

Anyway, I have about 18 UK region games and I am finding that games I receive from various people have the Japanese the orange epilepsy warning sheet enclosed, but some not. I was just wondering were there titles that simply didn't come with this documentation.

I'm also finding that some titles have three separate manuals (English, Italian and German) and some with just an English manual. Is this also a regular occurrence? I guess I'm asking people who have complete or fairly comprehensive collections to shed some light on this. Thanks.

I'm not sure about the orange warning... Not important to me.
As for the Euro games, many games come in 2 different packages (one UK version, and another one for other European countries), and some games have even more different versions (up to 4 sometimes)... Different back box artwork, etc...

Yeah, I've also noticed the different box art. So, it's the UK version only if it comes with an English manual?

Hi,

You've just bought Dark Arms off me on eBay really cheaply (Carcass999).

There are so many different versions of NGPC games it can be very confusing when you start (I've been collecting since it started and I still get surprised occassionally)

There are two colours of warning slips, orange as you mentioned and yellow, the yellow ones started to appear near the end of the NGPC life as I seem to recall but there didn't seem to be any pattern or reason to which games they applied to.

You will also encounter pink address slips within some games, I have a stash of address slips and warning slips for the games that I receive that don't contain them.

Although, in 2000/2001 when I bought a lot of the games that I now own they didn't have the slips within and I bought the games brand new from reputable shops.

As for the multiple instruction books query, erm, where to start, most 'UK' clamshells have at least two versions (the 1 book and 3bk version) as has been mentioned, some games have more versions (Metal Slug 1st Mission has at least 5 different ones that I have seen).

If you search through these forums you will see many discussions on this subject but I believe that the 3 book version was always destined to be the Europe release and the 1 book version was originally going to be distributed within the U.S. (before the cardboard boxes came around)

I'm sure someone within this forum can categorically prove what the reason is but it could also be the fact that SNK were a bit clueless.

I hope this has helped you but feel free to PM me if you need any more help.

As you have found out though, there are some really good games for this console. A quick list of the games you really should have -

Cardfighters Clash (either version)
Faselei
Evolution
Match Of The Millenium
Sonic
Metal Slug (preferably both)
Last Blade
Picture Puzzle (one of my faves, but not to everyones taste)

Avoid Dive Alert at all costs (except to finish the collection)

Thanks guys for the help, especially Kjcos_999 for jump starting my collection. :) Small world, eh? As for the collecting side of things, it seems very confusing as well as annoying as you could be collecting every game for the UK region, but end up having a mix of games released primarily for the UK as well games that were destined for European countries.

So, to sum up, SNK were quite indescriminate (to us anyway) when issuing those warning sheets as well as those pink address slips, putting them in some game sets, and not in others, yes?

Very small world.

The answer is, basically yes. SNK were quite bizarre in many of their business aproaches over the years. For example,

I've got a sealed set of Metal Slug 1st Mission instruction manuals from an original purchase of the game (with the original receipt) and there is no warning slip in the pack, why? It beggars belief. Although, it does make the collecting aspect more fun and a little random. I actually got my 3rd Samurai Shodown 2 cover a couple of weeks ago, I've never seen it before and I was so happy, I should really get out more, shouldn't I?

Anyhoo, if you need any help or there is any specific games you are after, drop me a line as I may have a duplicate to sell. I buy and sell the games all the time (I'm trying to get as many 100% perfect games but my girlfriend doesn't like me storing them in our bedroom so I have to sell them occasionally)

Good luck with the collection though, wish someone had bid on both my Cardfighters tonight (very cheap price, should be at least 20-25 GBP)
