So, apparently this thing is supposed to work really well. All it's doing for me is making my PSP crash though... Anybody got it working? A walkthrough would be much appreciated.

I got it to work per se,but there seems to be lots of games that aren't supported by GPSP just yet. The games that do work, however, runs beautifully.

There's a compatibillity list somewhere....just can't remember where I saw it atm.

Care to shed some light on this BIG? The eboot from the binary file is what goes on your PSP, right? What do you do with the source file?

For fw 1.50,you'll need a kxploit tool to create a %folder. I'd recommend using the PSPBrew app since it has a user-friendly interface.

Now,run the eboot file through PSPBrew, and you'll end up with two folders (gpSP and gpSP_~1%). Then, you'll need to find the GBA bios (google). Once you get the bios, extract and rename it to gba_bios.bin. Drop the bios and roms into the gpSP folder, and you're all set.

...And I see that finding the bios is more difficult than I thought it would be... :(

Nevermind, I found it. Man... this thing is buggy! Whenever I try to go to the menu, it says that my PSP has crashed.

Yeah,I've just tried running the new version, and I must say that it is very unstable. I can get to the start up screen, but nothing after that.

I'm sticking with the older version.

The beginnings of a great thing are there... But this has quite a ways to go still. At any rate, I appreciate the effort of the developer.

I know when I asked about downgrading my PSP I royally messed up and everybody was on my back about not knowing what the root of the PSP was.

So I'd like to know are there any good sites to give a first timer some hints on how to work all the different programs? I know of hackmypsp but they didn't seem to have any good FAQ's. So if anybody has any good sites please let me know. Hopefully I'll find some on Google but I'd like to know what everybody else used first.

You can start with this one:
http://forums.qj.net/f-guides-hacks...brew-guide-faq-v016-updated-072806-13796.html

There's a lot of good stuff on that forum, just look for it. They don't allow discussion of running ISOs and such, but for emulation and homebrew, they should have what you need.

Yep, that's the place where I found the FAQ to run the CPS2 Emulator. It runs awesome, only problem is I need to find a new AvP rom because I get an error message when I run the one I have. :annoyed: I'll also need to get a bigger memory stick, can't play Zero 3 but as long as I can play ONE good game I'm happy with it. This NJ did one hell of a job.

Nah, dude, I'll give you some pointers if I can be of assistance. I don't ever recall getting on you about not knowing what the root folder was or whatever. This stuff is mostly just trial and error most of the time, I haven't seen any good FAQs or anything on any of this stuff. I'm fairly versed in some of this stuff, if you have a question, shoot me a PM. If I can answer it, I definitely will.

Yeah, it seems that the PSP homebrew crowd, while cool, consists of a lot of jackasses. It's hard as hell to find any good FAQs with details on how to do stuff. New loaders come out with no documentation and you're just expected to know how to run the stuff. Really gets annoying.

Took me forever to finally get DevHook to run so I could run 2.71 on my 1.5. I did find a REALLY good guide for that, if anyone needs it. I think it was at ps2nfo.com or whatever the site is.

Most of the help I've gotten has been through individuals I had to message outside of the threads. Many are willing to help if asked, but then you have the ones that just want to bitch and whine about all the newbies and shit. Elitist pricks.

Sorry, bit of a rant there :P Didn't mean to, promise! I don't mean to offend, but a lot of people don't get that stuff. We're not all developers, you know!

Sounds awfully familiar for some reason... I wonder why...

If I can, I'm more than happy to answer anybody's questions about this stuff.

Don't bother with Zero 3, it is very slow. I guess you can play it with Frameskip but I think that's too choppy. Even AvP seems abit slow but I can live with it.

Thanks for all the tips. Now I also need to find both D&D Games because their not the main files for it or somthing, I get "CRC32" missing when I got to load Shadow over Mystaria and AvP.

I really hate looking for ROMS now, half the site make you vote for their site, and then when you can download them, they never download for me and I just give up. And I know well enough not to ask for them here, but if it wasn't for MAME I wouldn't have gotten into MVS gaming.
