This just came out today, did anyone else DL it?

I never played the original but after doing the trial, I thought it was worth $5. The graphics are nice and it plays pretty well. There is a two player alternating mode off-line and I read there is a co-op/VS mode on Live but I can't confirm that.

I picked up/am picking up several games this week but Time Pilot was a nice addition.

Still haven't gotten around to Pac-man yet.

Time Pilot? Meh, someone over at M$ needs to get Cave in on some XBLA action.

I trial DL pretty much everything that comes out. However, I don't buy many of the Arcade Live games. Some actual shooters would be nice and maybe that is something that will happen in the future.

Dude, color me massively excited about Time Pilot.
I've alwys felt it's an underrated golden-age classic shooter.
There weren't any other games of that time that had such a precise and fluid form of movement for the ship...plus I generally love anything that involves time travel.
Really fun ass game...there are some incorrect things with the XBLA version (as usual)...but I actually like the updated gfx a lot in this one...so damn fun.

For trivia heads: Time Pilot was actually designed by Yoshiki Okamoto...same design head who created Commando, Gunsmoke, Final Fight, and had a big hand in SFII.
That's a whole lot of blue-chip classics under one man's belt.

Time Pilot is a great game. I can get up to 122,000 (2001) stage but that is about it. Some of those guided missiles in the previous stages are hard as hell to stay away from.

Back in the day, I used to be pretty good at Time Pilot. I should check it out again, to see how rusty I've become. Strangely enough, there aren't a whole ton of shooters like this. Mainly stuff sort of like Sinistar (and for those Dreamcast players....Armada (the ONLY version of the game that ever will get made)). I need to put up a *real* Pacman score, though. I just played it a couple of times, but didn't get anywhere to a point as I usually do.

Shame about Armada. That was Metro 3D's best game. The sequel pretty much went the way of Duke Nukem Forever (first announced for Dreamcast, then for PS2 and Xbox). Though I'm just waiting for them to announce Armada 2 for the 360, PS3 and Wii, just so it can *not* come out on those platforms, too. They've promised and didn't deliver on 2 sets of consoles, they might as well keep the pattern.

Well, the updated graphics are very nice IMO. I just wish there was a way to save local high scores. Two players can alternate but once you exit out of the game, none of the high scores are saved. (It resets back to 10,000) I also wish that co-op and vs were local as well since they are contained on the one screen.

Lastly...I lost a decent score because I was not signed into Live when I was playing. It was not fantastic (upper 100 K). I didn't realize that your high scores were not saved if you were not signed in. I knew that it would not be uploaded but I was unaware of the lack of saving.

If anyone else plays this, post some impressions/scores.

Top score so far, 292,100.
I just need the 'Reach 2001 without dying-Perfect' achievement.
Damn I love this game.

Oh yeah. Just picked this up. Great game, HATE the enhanced graphics and sound, I like that they include them... but it would better if they just put more options or a real 2 player mode in.

I can only get to 1982 so far... gonna try and get to 2001.

Damn that is a nice score. I really didn't get a chance to play it much more today but i will be lucky if I ever break 200k.

Do the levels (time) just keep going or do they repeat? I have only made it to 2001.

Beat my earlier high, now at 383,100.
Finally nailed that last achievement too.
The analog stick actually works really well on this game, even better than the DoA joystick.
Currently ranked: 8th.

Wow! Great job Loopz. I just played a vs. game.. the lag was TERRIBLE.. but I won. Seems a little weird. I'm still trying to reach 2001 with default settngs..

exploit

An easy way to rack up points is stay on the first level. When the blimp comes fly in front of it and blast dudes. You could probably get the highscore on the leader board if you had iron nerves and a steel will.

Oh, just got a new score of 253,800 I'm ranked 381 now! This game is great... the only problem is that once you flip the levels and go back to level one, it's a bit too easy and your score just shoots up.

Anyone else still playing this? Loopz I can't believe you got that last achievement.. I'll have to try for it!

edit- My god, I've posted on the last three posts... I promise I won't bump it anymore!:eek_2:

I just downloaded this yesterday. I havent played Time Pilot since when the home version came out on ColecoVision. Anyway, I am glad that this was added to XBL. I definitely agree with Loopz. This is ooooollllldddddd sccchhhhhooooolllllll and I love it. I also like the updated graphics (updated but not totally revamped). Too bad we probably wont see any CAVE goodness.
