thanks for the info!
i found the niffty little button called ignore!
i think the main reason i do collect for them is this;
all arcades are horrible now!
ddr, driving games (i do like maximum tune 2 though)
a bunch of lame "novelty" games such as sking and rideing on a skate board?
wtf! hehe
like i was saying, by collecting for my children they will always be able to play on real cabs and play real games. they have a vega jr. set up in there "game room"
that i have had my ex husband attach a coin mech to so that after they do the nightly home work they can use thier choir money to play games if the choose so!
thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

A vega jr! I wish you were my mom :( lol
DDR isn't so bad (I like DDR and it's cousin beatmania IIDX a lot), but I do definitely agree that the arcades of old were awesome (music games or not). As a whole the gigantic gimmick games plain old suck, and of course lack the oldschool pixelly charm the classics have.

we keep what they spend in it until they earn enough for a new game.
its kinda cool, they do stuff around the house for me and in return they are given a weekly allowance. so they work hard so that they earn thier videogame privleges. this allows them to play games and at the same time they are saving up for a new game.
teaches responsibility, patcience, the value of a dollar and so on.

Hi Everyone,
I just signed up here a few minutes ago. I had a question that I wanted to get answered but I don't know where to post it.
In any case, hopefully someone will see this message and can help me out.
I have heard that there were AES games that were never transferred over to CD format. Particularly, some Fighting Games.
Would you know off the top of your head which Neo Geo Fighting Games were produced solely for the AES console and never transferred over to CD format? If not, any idea where I can get this information? Perhaps, you might know of a specific web site.
Thanks.
Lucas

The Master List (http://www.neo-geo.com/snk/masterlist.htm) answers all. The final NeoGeo CD release was KoF '99.

Hi,
I just purchased a Neo Geo AES Japanese Console earlier today.
I will be purchasing a Neo Geo CDZ system from Japan, within the coming days. I figured that the best way to get a total Neo Geo experience, would be to own both a Neo Geo AES system AND a Neo Geo CDZ system. What are your feelings on that idea? Do you think it would simply be a waste?
Neo Geo CD games are notoriously cheaper in price than AES games. So, if a game is available in both cartridge or CD format, I would probably go for the CD format. This would be to basically get the exact same game only at a lower cost.
Having a Neo Geo AES console also opens up the possibility to purchase MVS (Arcade Cartridge) games. However, I have been told that in order to play MVS cartridges on my AES console, I need to have a MVS Converter Cartridge.
I appreciate the time you took to read over this email. I look forward to hearing back from you on it. Thank you.
-Lucas
P.S. The MVS Converter sounds like a great product as it will expand my game library.
P.S.S. Will I be needing a Memory Card to go along with my Neo Geo AES Console?

Hi,
I will soon be owning both a Neo Geo CDZ and AES console.
The MVS Converter costs $279.99 USD plus shipping. That is really high. Do you know anything about MVS cartridges? From what I understand ALL MVS cartridge games were also produced for the Neo CD or the AES. Is that pretty much right?
Please let me know. Thanks.

Welcome to the wonderful world of neo geo and neo-geo.com
Where neo geo fans and bitter sarcasm collide !
Most all of your questions can be answered by either
A) The "Search" function for the forums
-or-
B) The Neo Geo Glossary (http://www.neo-geo.com/reviews/NeoGlossary/neoglossary.htm)
People around here are willing to help and answer questions as long as you do your homework. The same questions have been asked REPEATEDLY over the last six or so years. So I am quite sure that if you look enough, that the answers are already out there. However if you don't do your homework and ask a question that has been answered many times before... you are likely to get a smart ass answer or you will generally be told to fuck off. So just a little info to get you up and running. Good luck and have fun.
I am closing this thread to force new members to create their own threads, not be parasites on older ones :loco:
