That is way too much for a used copy. When it was first released, I got it for around $50 shipped (New).

A used copy now should be in the 25-35 range. (Of course on Ebay it is probably closer to 40).

It is an okay game (I have owned it twice now) but it is pretty thin as a fighting game.

I have a mint complete copy that I'll sell to you for $30 plus shipping if you're interested.

Three posts on the negatory, very good to know.

Gameoz, "thin for a fighting game". Personally, I love DBZ Supersonic Warrior 2. Is it comparable? Better? Worse?

Jro, I've got other near-future purchases I need to make (sealed AW DS & sealed Kirby CC), but if its still available say...in a month, that may be my birthday gift to myself. Thanks for the offer.

I have never liked the DBZ series however, I love DBZ SUpersonic Warrior 2. They are different games, so it is hard to compare. Jump is not a horrid game it is just an average fighting game. (Kind of a SSB lite) The one plus it offers is single card/multi-player play, (even though it is very limited) so it you have friends with DS systems that can be fun.

There is a Faqs for the single player mode which helps out if you don't read Japanese. It is pretty easy to navigate your way through the game with trial and error as well.

I read that there is a JSS 2 coming out but I don't know when that is. You may want to wait. For import fighters, Bleach is very good and a much better choice IMO.

I would rate JSS a 7/10.

$49 isn't a bad price.

I just sold my copy on ebay for $45 ($40 for the game + $5 shipping), you might as well wait though, Jump Superstars 2 was announced.

JSS is an awesome game, you guys are crazy :P

It has a fairly complex unlocking system (actually, there's just a learning curve if you can't read japanese), and the adventure mode can get tiresome after a bit. But multiplayer is BLAST. It's a shame it isn't online, but the new one will be, so you may just want to wait for that.

Adventure mode is basically a single player mode where you travel through the Jump Universe and fight battles / complete missions on the way. Many are quite easy, but some can bet really difficult. Most missions have several different tasks you're asked to complete, but you only have to complete the first one to continue on. But the more you complete, the more you unlock.

Check the videos here for a little more info if you haven't seen them already.

$49 used is TOO MUCH. You can get it new for less than that from Play Asia and have it shipped for like $6 or less and have it in a week (give or take a few days).

Personally, I love the game. It may not be much as a standard fighter, but if you like Super Smash Bros, it's the closest you'll get on the DS for now. I like it better, to be honest. Just make sure you study the FAQs really well or else you'll get nowhere.

I highly recommend getting it, even at the $50 price tag (if it's new). And by the way, if you have a Fry's near you, the ones down here have JSS, Bleach DS, Naruto 4, and lots of other imports in stock now as well for the usual $49,95 price. So look there first if you have nearby.

Jump Ultimate Stars (the next one) is coming on Thanksgiving, if I remember correctly. If you're still undecided, wait and get that one first. It's sure to be a hell of a lot of fun.
