pretty fun game, unlocked 3 achievments so far. should be better with human players, the AI is kind of wierd.

background music is annoying as shit (one tune) definetly break out your own music for this one.

graphics are very smooth in 720p

I'm a damn river rat; first fifteen hands 7 wins on the river, 8 loses on the river.

One of those loses (scenario mode) was for $1.5 million, oi!

Like the loss I took in a real hold'em game on saturday. I was ahead A/3 to A/J on the flop (A, 3, 10), I get pushed all in. Turn comes 2. River comes J.

I'm out $240.

F**k you, poker gods, right in your brown eye.

I had an awesome hand earlier on the river.

I had a 15% chance of winning against the other player left, we were both all in and I had no pairs at all just ace high, and on the last fucking card I get a straight and win. :chimp:

No you're not.

And that's why this isn't real poker. Nothing is on the line, so people don't play the same. I'm sure you'll see all sorts of crap on the river because people will call with any old draw since if they lose, it doesn't matter.

I'll still probably download this though since it's free.

actually i think you have a lifetime money bankroll, in single player you only start out with 2k, dont know what happens if you lose it all, i'm ranked 141 right now with my bankroll.

I got a chance to play for an hour over lunch. I lost that 2K right away going all in. I thought that I would get it back....nope:tickled:

So, you then start with $100 (if I remember correctly) and you have to play at the retard table where the usually bet is $2. So, now I am back up to $350.

I am not sure how this carries over to Live though. I like the idea that if you waste your money you have to work your way back. However, it is a pain in the ass starting at the losers table.

heh, yeah i noticed this when I first player single player, it took 600$ out of my "lifetime bankroll", that's when I noticed that might be all you have, then you gotta start from nothing if you lose it.

I won 1,600 off the chump AI, biggest loss for me was a 500 dollar hand, the other dude went all in and all I had was one pair, most of the time the CPU folds if you bluff it with a high raise. But I'm at 3,600 bankroll right now, ranked 144.

live play (multi) is the same way, that way if people wanna be idiots and go all in every hand, it will matter when they lose it. if you don't have enough money you can't enter "highroller" games etc.

this game is hella addicting building up your bankroll.

The first fifteen hands I played online this morning are one thing...

...the $240 I would've/could've/should've won on saturday (playing real poker) are another...nootch.

Since I fucked up this morning, I am probably going to have to spend all night playing the computer at the kids table before I will have enough money to play any of you.

Unless...there is a way to get more money?

well I went on a losing streak earlier, was down to 3,000 on my bankroll from about 4,200, but I'm back up to near 6,000 now. that's the last time I try and play while talking on the phone again. :kekeke:

Hey, I added you. I tried to join your game (4 times) but it kept saying "failed to join" so I will have to try again the next time you are on. Anyway, I just won $10,000 off some guys, so my bank roll isn't so bad now.

Gah, I just lost 10,000 due to turning off my xbox instead of leaving my table, letting it save, etc..

Just a word of warning! :)

No problem.

I actually spent and am going to spend a lot of my time playing the competitive tournament mode. I did that four about four hours. You have to have at least $4000 in competitive funds for the buy in to get into any of the good ones. However, the free competitive tournaments allow you to win money if you finish in the top 3 (maybe 4?). Now that I am at $6800, I am hoping to do some tournaments later.

It took me a while but I finally figured out why everyone was going all in again and again in the free buy in competitive tournaments. Since there is no penality (money wise) for the place you finish, a lot of people (I have seen all 7 of the other players do it) will go all in. One guy will win the $2000 and the others get the second place amount to put into their competitive funds.

You actually lose the "buy in" in the real tournaments, so that makes it a little more like playing for stakes.

Hmmm... that seems like a broken money generating mechanic.

Will that make the regular the buy in tournaments more full of idiots? I guess we'll see.

Since you still have to do a bit of work to get the $2000 (or at least take some time) I think it will cut down on the amount of abuses of this system.

I just downloaded this, but I haven't played it yet.

I have a feeling I'll probably have a bit of a harder time with this one. I'm actually pretty consistant with winning on 5 card stud. However, I can sort of statistically control the odds in that game. This whole, Texas Hold em, with community cards and the final river card is definitely going to throw me a loop. I don't tend to like having the odds control taken away from me; but I'll just try to learn how to deal with this new style.

The river card, usually, will either elate you or drive you insane.

Hold'em is a little more intense than your usual game of chance.

You will know if you are in a room full of people that are going to do this because one or all of them are telling everyone else to go all in. Microsoft could address it by having a small buy in for all tournaments but then there would be no way to get money when your out. At first it pissed me off but I understand that everyone wants to get to (at least) the $4000 buy in tournaments so that you have something at stake.

I have only been in one $4000 buy in tournament and finished 5th, not winning any money and thus losing my $4000 buy in.

Good game and a great way to kill time.

each pot was over a grand most of the time, I pulled out after I won a 1,700 hand. :buttrock:
