I wanted to make a thread so all of us can talk and discuss PSP games. So, list the games you have and like, and why, list some stuff to stay away from and why, and list stuff you're looking forward to and why.

Monster Hunter Freedom: I have a friend who bought it at the same time I did, and we're both having a complete blast with it. Think of it as Phantasy Star Online, without the online, and instead of being in a futuristic setting, put you way the fuck out in the wilderness in a small village while you go kill sweet things just to get sweeter things to kill EVEN sweeter things. And a bunch of weird quirky cats run around. The feeling of immersion in this game is great though. Perfect for a handheld game, I think.

Capcom Classics Collection Remixed: Strider/Captain Commando/Final Fight. And then a bunch of other games. Those three games are pretty arcade perfect and make it worth the price of admission alone. Seriously. Pick this fucking game up. Also, if you want to laugh at the unplayable Street Fighter 1 game.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX: 20 different modes to select from right after the start screen. Over 30 characters (36 i think?), so many differemt variations in fighting that it's ridiculous. Tight controls, and great sound. I think this is a must buy for anyone who even remotely likes the Alpha series.

GGX2Reload: It's Guilty Gear X2 #Reload. Not much more to say about that. Good. Not as good as Alpha 3, but good. Anywho. This is coming to america with a nice beat 'em up packaged in with it: Guilty Gear Judgement.

Lumines: Good puzzle game. Keeps the girlfriend entertained. :)

------------------

I work at a Blockbuster so I get to try games out for free while I'm on break. I own the five games listed above, but I've only got to try out the following. I'll make a + amd a - list.

+
Burnout Revenge
Tekken DR (just for the graphics, sheeesh)
Darkstalkers Chronicle
Y's AoN
Ape Escape On the Loose!

-
Coded Arms
Wipeout

I'm looking forward to the release of Spectral vs. Generation for the psp. As long as the analog stick is supported, fighting games are a breeze on this system.

And I want Bleach Heat The Soul 3 BADLY.

While Ys on the psp looks nice, it's got loading time up the ass. EVERY SINGLE ROOM you enter has about six seconds of loading time, and some have way more (up to 20). Buy the PS2 version of the game, and move along.

Currently thinking about purchasing a game. Torn between Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Socom: Fire Team Bravo , or Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai...

I have:

Virtua Tennis: World Tour
Grand Theft Auto: Libery City Stories
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee
Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX

Haven't bought games in ages because of World of Warcraft. Demon game!

These are the games that I own:

Initial D : Street Stage

Naruto Narutimate portable

Street fighter Alpha 3 Max

PoPolocrois

Valkyrie Profile : Lenneth

Lumines

Dark Stalkers

Hot Shots Golf

Ridge Racer

Need For Speed Underground : Rivals

And truthfully..all of the games are awsome.

I love Initial D..it's almost arcade perfet, but they took out one of my favorite levels, Akina Snow. It's a blast to play, and the replay value is great. I have already beat the game twice..working on the third time..just to get all of the performance and visual upgrades along with the rest of the cards I need. It's a blast to play 2 player, you can trade cards and battle for points. A must have for an Initial D fan.

Naruto portible is ok, not what I expected. It's like a smash bros. type game, using weapons and special attacks from the show. There are 2 story modes, which unlock charecters as you go along. You get points for the special stages, which can go into getting movie clips, and items to help throught story/battle modes. It's fun, but wasn't worth the 50$, but being a Naruto fan, I picked this one up as soon as it came out.

Alpha 3 max is awsome, hours of play into it, and 2 player battles are fun. Controls are a bit iffy with the psp d-pad, but I bought the detatchable d-pad so it works just fine.

PoPolocrios and Valkyrie profile are cool. I play VP more than Pop because..well just because. The battle system for VP is amazing, and that is what really dragged me into buying the game. Pop. is ok...story is a bit meh..and I haven't really played through much of it yet. I suggest picking up VP if you are a fan of the PSX version, or if you are looking for a good PSP rpg.

Lumines, well theres not much to say about Lumines..basic puzzle game, provides something to do for long train/car rides.

Dark stalkers is fun..still the controls are meh becuase of the psp's d-pad. With the attatchment, you should be ok though. Just like any other DS..same charecters and battle style..just with a story mode.

Hot Shots Golf is awsome, I love this game and still have yet to collect everything. This game is fun from the start, and has great replay value for those boring rainy days. Well worth the purchase.

Ridge racer is..well...RIIIIIIDGGE RACCERRRRRRRR...lol but no, its a fun racing game which truely brings out the psp's graphic ability..some of the backgrounds look stunning, like the one with the merry-go-round in the background..very nice visuals.Worth the pickup.

And finally..Need for Speed: Underground Rivals..This game is your typical rice burner fart can light up vroom vroom game. Like any other NFS..you race throughout the streets to build up street credit and also build up your car. I really don't know why I bought this game..It's not that fun and the replay value is little to none.

Well, that's all of em. I want to pick up Tekken 5 : Dark Reserection, a friend of mine has it and it's pretty damned cool. We battled with the download play..the loading took forever and a half..but it was cool.

Also, Hows the Gundam game for PSP..I am a fan of Gundam..but don't feel like shelling out 50 bills if the game is going to be crap.

I bought one used about 1 month ago and since then amassed a bunch of games. I still need to get a few more! Here are what I have:

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Awesome game, it is so impressive to play a GTA game as a handheld)

Burnout Legends (very impressive graphics and addictive as crack)

MLB '06 The Show (best baseball game ever)

Winning Eleven 9 International (if you like soccer, this is the best)

Ys (loading kinda sucks, but it is playable)

Generation of Chaos (A good game is hiding all the menus, I need to reread the instruction hehe)

Exit (really fun puzzle platformer)

Tokobots (have not even opened it yet)

Metal Gear Ac!d 1 & 2 (really fun games, I love 2's cel-shaded look)

Megaman Powered Up (just got it this week, it seems very old-school tough)

Megaman Maverick Hunter X (just got it this week, does not seem to be as hard as PU)

I think that's about it, there are a bunch of games I need to get to round out my collection:

Tekken
Valkyrie Profile
Gradius Collection
Capcom Classics Collection
Race Driver 2006
Outrun Coast 2 Coast
Virtua Tennis
Lumines

Probably alot more new releases I want too.... Overall, I am very happy with my PSP!

I have some emulators on my PSP like NES, SNES, Genesis, and NG. But, the left on the D-Pad is fucked up. I don't feel like trying to fix it or buy another one. So, it currently collecting dust. :crying:

But, I do agree that there are some great PSP games out there especially by Capcom. MM: Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X are awesome. So, is Capcom Classics Collection Remixed, has a lot of my favorite capcom arcades games like Final Fight and Captain Commando.

Also, GGX Reload plays great, just as well as it did on the PS2.

Lastly, the Ghouls and Ghosts remake is awesome. A bit challenging, but, anyone that is a fan of the original Ghouls and Ghosts should definitely pick it up.

You should try the CPS1 and 2 emu.

Most games work at near-perfect speed w/sound.

I find myself playing Pro Evolution Soccer 5 the most.

Granted, there's no master league or cups and the loading times are a bit too much. But still it's fuckin PES5 and now i can play the premiership at work!
