For those that has read my other posts about my monitor problems in my Impress, I am glad to say I bought a new 29" monitor and everthing works great. Now, I put all new Seimitsu sticks and buttons in. I also added a credit button. The last thing I want to do is wire the CP for a 4th button for NeoGeo fighters. The cab already has the 6 button Street Fighter style layout and there really isn't enough space to add a 7th button to either 1 or 2 player. Is there any other solutions?

I think I remember reading something here about wiring up two buttons to do the job of one..(when an extra button is needed)

Pressing two buttons at the same time(2-and 3) works as a forth button..

.....
But then I might be losing my mind..:D ...needs a tech to chime in on it..

That being said, is it possible to wire one button to do 2 jobs? Jamma and Neo Geo use locations 25 (player 1) and c (player 2) on the harness for the 4th button. Would it work if I bridged those locations with the 3rd kick button via the kick harness?

That I would not know for sure..as I don't know what bridging those locations would do to the board..

I just remember reading something that another tech wrote about what I wrote.

I'd say it would be best to see if another tech chimes in with a definite answer..

I will wait. I don't want to damage anything. I've waited to long and put enough money in this thing not damage it.

If you don't want to drill a hole for a 7th button then wire it like this.

BCD
AXX

Just strip a bit of the wire on the way to the JAMMA harness and add the 4th button, use apeice of wire as a ground jumper from the 3rd button to the 4th button.

I would do that but I also want to leave the bottom 3 buttons connected to the CPS kick harness.

If you wire your sticks & buttons to a molex connector and the matching connector to the JAMMA & Kick Harnesses.. you can get another set of connectors and make an adapter/bridge between them that rearranges the layout.

Nice & Clean.
