And yes, the OG part stands for "Ice Cube."

Okay, it doesn't, but Original Generation doesn't sound as cool as the old OG.

Seems kind of cool so far, good couple weeks for GBA games from Atlus. Anyone else get it?

I am thinking about picking it up as I think it looks pretty good. However, I have read where it is rather long, so I don't know if I can fit it in. I would have loved to have seen this come out in June.

as soon as I can walk in a store, grab a sealed copy, give them my money and leave.....yes I am definitely getting it. Gaystop and EBgay both didn't have it....cuz they suck. Fry's should have it soon. I can wait a few days. Gotta finish Summon Night. :buttrock:

I admit I was quite surprised when I went into EB to get Dead Rising and the answer to "did Super Robot Taisen come in today?" was "the one for GBA? Sure, here's a copy."

No hassle over the fact that I didn't reserve it, though the dude did try to get me to reserve Ninety-Nine Nights or Saints Row (no dice on either one).

I imagine SRT:OG will have a very small print run as per the usual Atlus on GBA.

I've NEVER had anything like that happen.

ALWAYS 1 of 2 scenarios:

Scenario1:

Clerk: "Hey man, how's it going? Bring me any trade-ins today?"
Me: "no"
Clerk: "What brings you in today man?"
Me: "my feet"
Clerk: "..."
Me: "so, did you get in [game title] today?"
Clerk: "lemme' check on that....did you preorder?"
Me: "no."
Clerk: [typing into computer] "you know you can guarantee yourself a copy if you put just $5 down."
Me: "neat."
Clerk: "no...that actually SHIPPED today. Sorry man. Would you like to preorder?"
[sound of door beeping as I walk out]

Scenario 2:

Clerk: "Hey man, how's it going? Bring me any trade-ins today?"
Me: "no"
Clerk: "What brings you in today man?"
Me: "my feet"
Clerk: "..."
Me: "so, did you get in [game title] today?"
Clerk: "lemme' check on that....did you preorder?"
Me: "no."
Clerk: [typing into computer] "you're in luck, I got one left...lemme' go grab the box off the shelf."
Me: "whoah, whoah...so you don't have any sealed?"
Clerk: "no, but this one's new...just..."
Me: "no thanks." [sound of door beeping as I walk out]

I got the game from EB on Wednesday.
I have not had time to play it much, but from I have played its alright. It reminds me alot of the Fire Emblem games. The overhead map, and menus are rather bland and are not as detailed as Advanced Wars or Fire Emblem. But the fight animations look cool and are very fluid.

I've had a chance to put more time into this now, and I like it quite a bit. The actual combat engine is well-done, with more factors to consider in the fighting than it originally appears. The fighting scenes are very colorful and pretty entertaining, but they're so long that I end up skipping them toward the latter half of most battles.

There's FAR more story to SRT then in the average game of this type. The characters all have plenty of lines and several of them are pretty deep, with more than one motivation for doing what they're doing.

SRT just screams goofy JP RPG in a lot of ways, though; it may be too much for some people. The main female character sexually harasses the main male characters pretty much every chance she gets (no actual images, but at one part she was walking around in only a towel in hopes of making people get "the wrong idea"). I guess it lends a little personality, though.

It's fun, overall. Worth the $30.

good to hear! I haven't gotten to it yet....still finishing up Summon Night. Hope to get to it in the next couple o' days. Ironically I piccked it up at EBGames the other day. Saw they had it in stock by me, so I called to make sure it was true....got there and made a comment along the lines of "glad I got here before you guys opened the package and screwed it all up."....he wasn't amused.
