Accidentally updated my psp to 2.80

I have a sony psp, and I want to run homebrew neo geo cd on it, but I accidentally updated my psp to firmware version 2.80, is there any way that I can get it back down to 1.5? maybe formatt my psp somehow?

Nope.
There's no way to downgrade form 2.7 and up.
only 2.6 and down.

Damn, so Im pretty much screwed, untill someone can make a homebrew emulator that will run on 2.80?

Just buy another PSP exclusively for Romz and homebrew. There are over 600 of them on ebay and tons of Craigslist.

yea how do you "accidently" update? It only says to plug in AC, AND you have to put in a newer game

alright, alright... Accident was the wrong word... No need for ignorance here... I just bought a psp right... then I talked to my friend and was wondering how he got internet, and he told me I need to update to do this.. and I did, but after I updated... I realized, oh shit... I can't run homebrew's now. I guess there really wont be anything for me to do... at least for a while... but we will see. Thanks for posting back.. I mean, I am a n00b to psp, but I hadn't realized what I had done until I did it.

I thought you can run internet on 1.5 using wipeout since it gives you access to the browser?

Now it is way easier and more convenient to emulate firmware 2.X in the 1.5 and then use the built-in browser. That's the same trick used now to play the newer games.
