I have an AES system with converted video done by Mr. Jeff Kurtz (excellent work, I might add). Unfortunately, I now only have HDTVs to hook up my system to, and the picture looks like crap! I assume it is because the image is being upconverted twice--1st by the Neobitz board, then by the TV.

I also have a limited amount of space in my apartment, so buying a new, large monitor or TV is out of the question. As far as I see it here are my options: a) buy a small, portable LCD monitor/TV that supports s-video or component input, or b) get an old Commodore 1084 monitor and have a custom cable made in order to use the Neo's RGB output.

Can anyone offer any additional options or input (keeping my limitations of budget and space in mind)?

Many thanks in advance,

The NeoBitz board isn't upconverting anything. Chances are that the upconverters in your HDTVs are slacking off. Low quality upconverters (like the kind in most HDTVs) show their flaws worse on low-res video game graphics.

Check out this article on scanlines. There's some discussion of video processors and other ways to get games to look decent on an LCD / HDTV. Specifically, something like an XRGB2+ would probably help out a lot.
