I was thinking of getting the wife a Lite anyway. Forget that. I am getting this, and she can have my current navy Lite.

The page should be OK. I can access it now.

It comes out in Japan on the same day as FF III, which is the 24th of August.

FYI, the unit is in very limited print (so low, each unit will have it's own ID to show which one it is from the batch).

With Lites selling out like crazy and still heavly overpriced, this unit will cost a fortune ($300-$400+ range) vs $130 for a usa one.

Just letting you know. ;)

Not as far as I know.

I went to reserve mine the other day, but my local shop, who will normally get me anything I like, said that there is no formal ordering system yet so she has no way of telling if she can get any or not, or if she can, how many she can get. :crying:

Still, she said that about the DS Lite when I tried to reserve one of those and still got one for me :)

Personaly I feel it would be worth getting to never open. Would be worth a ton of $$$ in 10 years.

Also the selling price in japan is almost $200 USD.

Is this going to be the ACTUAL Final Fantasy III from JPN, or will it be the US FF3/JPN FF6?

but ultimately I'd be pissed if they fucked with the classic

some games shouldn't be remade

Yeah I agree, but did you ever see that Chrono Trigger resurrection project page? Some guys that did coding were re-doing a few scenarios from CT into 3D and it looked FANTASTIC.

They did it in hopes of attracting Square's attention to maybe get jobs... but Square just issued a cease and desist. Fucking morons. If Square did something like that with FF3, and didn't change the story or anything, but it came out on say, PS3, or X360, it would be cool.

Zeenbor is my exroom mate. They did it because they loved Crono Trigger, Not for jobs at squaresoft. Also :angry: I've played it.

And exactly how "limited" is it going to be?

The DS Lite looks nice its a shame the white is already a standard colour unlike when the released the FFTA SP where white was a special colour.. but it looks nice all the same but maybe not different enough for me to blow that much money on at this point in time.. we'll see..

No, the set is around 200 USD, or 107 GBP. Essentially just the price of a normal DS Lite plus the cost of the game.

The site doesn't say how many are going to be produced. The game is going to be huge in Japan though. Maybe they are going to produce quite a few. I don't really care though, I just want one :)

Yeah, I guess that a unique colour would be good, but then again, white is probably best to see the artwork.

Ahh I'd be tempted by 107 GBP, the only site I found with a price so far was YesAsia and they have it listed here: FFIII DS Lite and it has a £199.54 list price! and a price of £161.78 to pre-order it (no refunds either) thats pretty expensive..
